GOOD NEWS! Carlisle (home)

Recommended Posts

Hello Chris, first time i've seen ya! As for all the other comments, i agree a good move and don't forget as well as the club advertising the initiative, us boys (and girls, soz) can do our bit, by telling people we know who don't normally come down, to give it a go, they might even like it!!

If the club is in a generous mood, could someone arrange for me to be picked up too? I know i live in Sheffield but come on, i'm a huge Canvey supporter!

How about this then, ring up Carlise and tell them i'll be waiting on the M1 turn off to Sheffield at 8am and they can take me instead!

Cheers Chris - wasn't being serious about ferrying the Carlisle fans - although we could charge them and put the money back into the club <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Still think its an excellent idea though.

You mentioned its for Canvey residents - will this be extended to include; Benfleet, Hadleigh and Pitsea. This time or in the future? and test the reaction from off the island.

As a first trial basis we can only chance the one coach which will be a nice 53 seater kindly discounted by our regular provider "Amber Coaches".It will Start pick-ups from Northwick Corner at 11am. and i estimate should get five circuits of the Island by 1pm kick off each dropping off at Park Lane.

More precise details in our progs.and the ECHO.

I sincerely hope the coach will be banged out with new and existing supporters so that we may look to running extra vehicles beyond Canvey in the future.

I am sure that with the team doing better on the pitch and the occasional(or frequent)financial jesture/incentive by the club we have a potential fan base of over 100,000.If we get our new stadium who knows what that figure may be!

Lets give it a go and see.Tell all your mates.

CHEERS.

Hadn't thought of 'Park & Ride' but if it suits you feel free, the more the merrier. This service for this one day is purely 'Suck it and see'.

We have plans to bring CIFC to the attention of a wider audience long term, but for now all our effort is concentrated on the Island and especialy the school kids who are the next generation 'Yellow Army'.

Conference Football on our small Island is a fantastic privelage so lets embrace it. I for one want it .......and more!

Have you never watched a live game on TV and thought, "I wish I was there." There is no substitute for being at the game, to smell the burgers, to hear the bugle in your left ear, to enjoy the little homilies of Tony Richardson. Really glad to see that the club is being pro-active in bringing more fans to The Lane. I think the bus will be even more important should we move to Waterside Farm.

Southend United are doing a hell of a lot of work in schools across the area and already the youngsters in my own school are getting excited about the prospects of going to Roots Hall to watch a home game. Glen must know how excited children get when he is in his role as football/games coach at various local schools. Any initialtive - Kid for a Quid, visiting primary schools, organising training/coaching sessions for Under 11s - is bound to reflect on the gate in the long run.

Well done Chris G and the Canvey FC board.

The posters advertising the route of the bus, and the kids for a quid, are now ready, i'm sure if anyone can put one up locally, in schools, shops e.t.c. then Chris G will be happy to let you take a couple to help spread the word. I've already taken a few and had no probs getting them put up. If this works in can only be good for all concerned!
