A brief summary...
Saints went ahead while most people were still taking up their positions behind the goal. Gary Wraight was put free down the right and crossed perfectly for Youness Nabil to stoop and head home from eight yards.
City then had to weather the storm for virtually the rest of the game but Wood failed to put together any real clear-cut chances even though they did have the ball in the net from a Lee Harvey long throw in the second half.
In a niggly game punctuated by the constant blowing of the referee's whistle, Saints finally came back into the game in the last 10 minutes and could have gone further ahead but somebody (Smith?) shot well wide when well placed from Rob Kean's cross.
Wood's no. 6 (Wootton?) was sent off near the end for foul and abusive language to a linesman.
Att: 318
