New signing for Saints!

Culled from the Worthing website...
BAXTER LEAVES WOODSIDE
Darren Baxter has left Worthing FC to join Premier Division St Albans.
The restless midfielder's contract has been wound up in mutually agreeable terms, in time for his move to complete before the transfer deadline of March 31st.
Baxter, who has been unsettled at Worthing since joining at the start of the season, expressed his desire to play a higher level of football, and the club did not wish to stand in his way.
It has always been the player's desire to return to the Football League, and this move brings him one step closer.
(I particularly like the bit about returning to the Football League, the boy obviously has got sense!)

P.S. There's more...
A skilful central of left sided player signed at the start of the season after being released by Chelsea. He has also played for SPL side Heart of Midlothian and has the ability to play at a higher level. At only 20, he still has an exciting football career ahead of him.
[ 28 March 2002: This message was edited by: Rob the Saint ]

Baxter cannot adjust to Ryman football. He wants to much time on the ball and at 5ft nothing

consequently gets knocked off it.You will quickly

learn his trademark trick[he throws his left arm

into the air and drags the ball to his right]the problem is most opponents also note it!I hope he

does well for you,he was a very expensive flop at

woodside.

Looked like Lenny Piper's stunt double from where I was standing when he came on.

First touch laid on the second goal and his second touch earnt him a yellow card - don't EFM give out honourary memberships for that kind of thing?
