WGCFC 2 - KLT 2

Recommended Posts

A second draw and a point against KINGSBURY LONDON TIGERS today. We drew when we played the Tigers at home at the end of November that time 1 - 1 the Citizens goal scored by Tom Lewis.

A tougher game was witnessed this afternoon with the visitors taking first blood when Joel Pardel beat Rob Blackburne in the Citizens goal 19 minutes into the game.

Before the half hour Stuart Blackburne was unlucky when his thunderbolt of a shot was just wide. However, with 36 minutes gone Adam Wallace forced his way down the right and his cross into the box was inch perfect for Fabio Vallenti to head home and redress the score line.

Minutes before the referee blew for half time Vince Rispoli sent a long range pass into the centre where Wallace was on hand to net and send the Citizens in at the break a goal ahead.

The Tigers were not down and out and continued to press the home back line, which was undoubtedly assisted by the return of Johnny Moore in midfield. Unfortunately Mark Blackburne had to be substituted 10 minutes after the restart, the stalwart defender suffering in a challenge in the home area, Andreas Philides coming on in his place.

The Tigers constant pressure was rewarded just 10 minutes from the end when they scored again to send the teams away with a point apiece. The result and others around us mean we remain 15th in the league.

WGCFC: R Blackburne, M Blackburne (Philides), Kapphouris, McKay, V Rispoli, Thomson, Williams(T Lewis),J Moore, S Blackburne(Morton), Wallace, Valenti.

OTHER SUBS: Taylor, Newing.

Interesting that Steve made himself substitute on Saturday, any particular reason for that:

Lol, are you serious.

I see that Welwyn Garden City are still firmly in 15th place with only a realistic, but unlikely, hope of getting above Hertford Town who are bound to finish the campaign strongly. With Brimsdown Rovers now flying and Biggleswade United picking up points my bet is that you will finish no higher than 16th this season let alone 15th which I'm sure would be a disappointment for 'the Dynamic Duo' or is it 'the Deadly Duo'.

Interestingly when the Dynamic Duo took over at WGCFC the Citizens league record was, scored 17 and conceded 48, a goal difference of -31.

To date they have added 26 goals and only conceded 12,a goal difference of just -17, it will not be long before they are into positive numbers.

17, 48, 26 and 12 are possitive numbers Oracle grin
