NGU in Southern

Recommended Posts

Just heard from somebody at the club that we may be playing our old friends North Greenford United in the Southern League Division 1 Central next season, happy days.

FA apparently issuing the full list on their website at 2pm.

I guess Lammas will be breathing a sigh of relief as Ashford Town are in the Zamaretto, bearing in mind Turvey & Co getting arsey about ground shares.

There was a piece in the NLP yesterday from the Whyteleafe chairman regarding their proposed share with Warlingham. Apparently they are appealing (as are Godalming) and he said the problem seems to be that the Ryman thinks clubs are doing it to gain promotion without improving their own grounds. About time the Ryman hierachy was shaken up a bit, there's at least one person who's well past his retirement date!

Off topic a little, interesting to see no sign of Grays anywhere (who wanted Ryman Prem) or the new Chester FC who seemed to think they may get into the EvoStik Prem, again nowhere to be seen.

Who's this Badfont Town by the way? :wtf:

Both coming down to our level TRS. Grays are going into the Essex Senior, Chester are going into the North West Counties.

Bracknell have been confirmed as going to the Hellenic League.

If no-one moves across leagues into our premier Division then it looks like there'll be no relegation this season - just MVSCR replacing NGU

Interesting to see Witham didn't go up from the Essex Senior. They finished second behind Stansted but Stansted couldn't get promoted. In the past that meant the second placed team could go up instead but there were 12 champions promoted from the other divisions so no room for any second placed clubs, despite seven reprieves at step 4.

Makes me wonder what they'll do next season if more than 12 step 5 champions get the grading and want to go up which is looking increasingly possible as more clubs do their grounds up and apply for promotion.

Imagine the poor sods who win a league next season and are told they can't go up as there's not room for them.

Green Pea could fill you in on that but if you look at Bedfont Green and Bedfont FC that may give you a clue. Great things happening down there and a good season predicted.
