The madness of non league football

Recommended Posts

Have heard that Brentwood Town are to play their remaining two home fixtures away from their home,at redbridge as they failed to put up a tunnel to protect the referees. They were given 6 months to do so but I believe refused so the ground has been closed.I believe this goes back to an incident when a referee was sworn at by a fan at the end of the game and the obvious jobsworth referee reported the club to the FA who took such a (in my mind) ridiculous measure. This sort of incident happens all over the country week in week out and while not always necessary, peoples frustrations can get out of hand, especially when an official handles a game wrong in some peoples minds.

Obviously I have heard this from a Brentwood source so there may be more to the story but it seems as if as usual the fans are being made to suffer more than the club.
