Not at all, I just wonder if there is any point putting information on the website if people can't be bothered to look at it before asking questions!

David it is not that I couldn't be bothered to look at it, but I just didn't know that that information would be on the fixture list. I am probably not the only one who did not know this, but I will try not to be so stupid in the future. Actually it was there 6:00 on Saturday, as I couldn't get to the match I updated that part as soon as the match was over.

 

The only thing I haven't done is the appearances and the attendance as I didn't have those at the time, and didn't have the time yesterday.

Don't you upset my Mummy, Mr H, or she might just change her mind & smuggle her Jack Russell into tomorrow's game, programmed to seek out & kill DH's backside. I think the sad fact is that, despite all your sterling work on the main site, most regular users still use this forum as their 1st port of call, when it comes to getting info & there's no point getting stroppy, when they do this, thereby upsetting perfectly well-meaning good supporters.

Well they will have to get used to using the Website as I doubt that my succesor will be quite as keen to run the site and then answer the same questions again here.

Let us just forget this. It is my fault I have only just got onto the internet and I suppose I don't really know what I'm doing for sure. The last thing I want is to cause bad feelings. All I can say is that all I really understand is the Forum, and obviously the question I asked has provoked this. You have my permission to cut me off from your Forum, as I will probably do something else silly. It is my age Dave, sorry!Most of the reaction was said with a sense of humour. I wish I had never asked the silly question! Am I forgiven?

I can recall on numerous occasions incidents where I have gained information and news relating to the club from other sources (often simply chat in the club bar or local papers) ahead of the official website, if the club are serious about utilizing information technology for the benefit of the club and the local community then I for one feel that the official website should be at the forefront of any such project.

 

In the past, Dave has confided with myself and other fleet supporters that he feels the time and effort he dedicates to maintaining and updating this website is just not appreciated by the supporters or officials linked with the club.

Funnily yes you were there. It was in the club bar very early in the year, you were somewhat disheartened that a certain snippet of information had been released to the local press before you - if I recall correctly it the rescheduling of the Margate fixture last season.

Hang on a minute, what reaction? Read my original post. Apart from my point that many supporters go to the forum for their info. as a first point of call, it's 100% humorous & amicable (though my mum has got a Jack Russell & it can bite ass for England.)

 

Dave, mate, you're the only one reacting. I appreciate all the work you put in & so does my mum, who has been the object of your ire. She's well past retirement age & enjoys her time on the computer almost as much as following the Fleet in the flesh. If you get stroppy with people like her, you'll just persuade her & other relative newcomers to the site that it isn't worth posting for fear of having their head bitten off. It's meant to be for people's enjoyment, not a test. If somebody asks a question that's already answered somewhere else, what's the point in reacting like one of those teachers with a sense of humour by-pass whom we both had to endure in the past?
