FF News
Leek Town crashed to their fifth successive defeat when they lost to third-placed Spalding United at Harrison Park on Saturday. Blues’ play-off aspirations took another massive blow when the Tulips netted four times without reply leaving Leek in free-fall with only 6 games remaining. The New Year has been a disastrous one for Danylyk’s side who hit third spot in mid-January but since then they have won only three games and picked up just 12 points from 12 games. Speaking after the game, Blues’ boss Ant Danylyk said, “That was a terrible result against what should have been our rivals for a play-off place. “We started well and might have taken the lead but they opened the scoring against the run of play and our mistakes led to them netting two more whilst on the stroke of half time Chadders was unable to clear due to injury and that led to their fourth. “After the break they just sat back on their lead and we enjoyed the lion’s share of possession moving the ball around well. “However, we only had four shots throughout the 90 minutes and that was disappointing” he added.
