Have you ever found yourself musing, when a completely fictitious word pops into your head - and it so pleases you that you end up remembering it for all time ???

 

For me, the provenance of this phenomenon is in names of (generally) purely fictitious places - always British-sounding and invariably they present themselves to my mind as if they were the names of footie teams being read out on the pools !

 

Maybe I am the only person this has ever happened to ? I need to find out if anyone else has similar experiences.

 

If so - add the name(s) of the places/teams(?) to the list below !!!

 

OR AM I <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/yay.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/yay.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/yay.gif" alt="" /> ?

 

 

One rule for posting here:- Only include examples which do not duplicate an already existing place-name, either in real life or in fiction !

Please give us an example or one that you are thinking of, why I try to remember /think of some.

 

Are you thinking of work teams like Ford Utd?, who are not named after a place. I await your explanation, to see if we are on the same page.

Mark - just including "completely fictional" names really, although I am only concentrating on ones which sound like the might exist or could have existed in the English speaking world.

 

A good example (if it was not already published in fiction) would be "Melchester Rovers" of Roy of the Rovers fame. Sounds like a perfectly good British place and team therefrom.

 

Like I say... I might be the only person who has ever experienced the random appearance of fictitious team names in my head... but I'd sure like to know if anyone else has !!!
