In The Net Scratch Card Question

Finisterre, you are one of the lucky ones - My recorded time is 1 minute! - I wonder if anyone happens to know the most frequent time we have scored at home. Then we could start a bidding frenzy for anyone who has that card ! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> -

F-O-T-B...Oh ye of little faith, of course there are 45 and 90 min tickets.

The tickets are sold in blocks of 90, ie; min 1 to min 90, the 45 and 90 do represent best value as you could get 4/5 mins extra time for each one.

But on the down side, how many FIRST goals are scored in the 90th.

Over 300 tickets paid for so far and another 100 or so to be paid.

Fair enough, I was wrong to doubt the scratchcards! They are a great idea and somehow add to my enjoyment of the first few minutes of the game, perhaps I might one day get my hands on that money. Are they expensive to produce because (and this is just an idea) perhaps next year the club could do cheap ones for one game only type thing?

How many first goals are scored in the 90th minute? That sounds like a question for Simon...

Practically none!

Although we have made a habit of scoring late goals in recent seasons, they have never been the first goal, and rarely been decisive, i.e. on Monday the injury time goal wouldn't have made any difference as we were 3-2 up at the time.

Last season we did concede 2 decisive injury time goals, in the draws at Eastleigh and Northwood.

The latest first goal I can remember in recent seasons was at Crawley in the FA Cup when we lost 1-0.

We don't tend to be involved in particularly many 1-0 games (win or lose), 6 last season (4 wins) compared to 10 2-0 (7 wins) and 8 1-1. This is pretty typical for the league - the average goals per game last season was 2.8, pretty much exactly what we saw.
