Gravesend boss holds striker hope

Gravesend & Northfleet boss Liam Daish is still planning to bring a striker in on loan.

The transfer deadline may have passed but the rules allow Daish to bring in temporary signings.

 

"We haven't got pots of money to shell out on transfer fees, so we're limited in that way," he said.

 

"I've looked and spoken to plenty of forwards but sometimes you can't afford what they want. But I'm confident we can get someone in on loan."

Actually that news gives me a lot more confidence in the club.

 

I, along with WVN, Matt, Wobbly Wayne and no doubt quite a few others have been concerned about the financing of the transition to full-time.

 

As long as the club refuses to spend money it doesn't have it looks like we have someone sensible controlling the budget. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

I suppose it would also have been frowned upon, by on the one hand seeking a grant to repair the Northfleet End stand but on the other spending money on player transfer(s)?

WVN, I don't think that is the point. The club is getting only 50% of the cost of the refurbishment of the Northfleet end which means there is still £35,000 to be funded internally.
