Hey folks - just popped by ur site to have a look around. looks good!.

So how many are comin up on sat then? Should be a good day - we're not rippin matches up at the moment by any stretch of the imagination...and you seem to be on top form, so could be a good one.

I hope you come away with nothing to be honest!....but on the same note I wish you all the best and hope you have a top day if your comin up.

Just a few points after readin some other posts....

1) don't bother with the £60 crap offer of bars and stuff...it's a bit ponsy in there, you'd need to dress smart and it's all a bit corporate!. There's plenty of boozers a few mins from the ground (Castle Street - pedestrian area) and most let both sets of fans in.

2) This 'firm' rubbish - get real ppl, that's like yester-year football innit?. Most fans have moved along the evo chain now so trouble is rare at our place...and personally speaking that's good. Get in a pub with some opposing fans before the match, have a laugh and a bit of banter and enjoy the occasion.

3) I've never even SEEN a whippet - nor clogs, although me dad did have a flat cap - lol!

anyway - enough sH1t from me....hope it's a good crac on sat - I'll bob back in from time to time to see what you think of my message!!! - if you've any questions about sunny stockport then I'll try to help yah.

(ps - I've been to a St Albans game....about 2 years ago - u were at home...played basingstoke and won something like 4-2) - The Crown was a good feed before the match I remember.

SCFC 2 SACFC 1 (maybe!?)

True, but take away our first 8 games of the season and it looks a little something like this:

W5 D2 L4 P17

That's our last 11 games. It's not Championship material.

Your point about the Firm thing. The comment on the opening page of the message board made me laugh...'the Spinal Tap of the football hooligan world.'

Thanks for that old chap. I'm surprised you don't have a whippet. Are you worried that it might get at your pigeons?

I don't think that many of ours are up for the £60 deal due to the dress rule. We've heard that there is an 'away fans' bar at t'ground. Do you recommend Castle Street in preference to it?

Numbers? We have 4 supporters coaches for Saturday [kindly sponsored by the local rag "The St. Albans Observer"], and a number will make their own way, of course. 5/600 or so?. Hopefully it will seem like more.

Thanks for your good wishes. Good luck to you in the League this season from me.

nah t'pidgeons pissed off - prob migrated t'somewhere warmer!

not sure on an away fans bar, never been that end! - so can't confirm...but there may be somethin around the vernon stand?. I'd say get yourself off t'Bobby Peal as mentioned on another posting on 'ere. Crawlin distance t'ground, decent boozer and it's normally a good laugh in there (and if you're easily spottable then I might even go as far as buyin you a pint to welcome you to our grim town!!)

hatfield road I think it wa called...whatever that road is with the oh so dumpy rats castle on.

In terms of distance it was our local....but not in terms of the number of visits, tended to avoid it!.

Thats definately when it was then, I kept and eye on your results after that match and yeah tits up is the best description!. Least ur back up there now thou hey

Not according to Stockport, AFF. Phoned the ground this morning and they said there isn't. They also said away fans are not allowed in the 'home' bar. Still, plenty of drinking establishments in the vicinity according to all reports.

I dont know who I spoke to at Stockport who told me about the away bar - anyway the local police spoke to me today and said we have to leave after the game as we get escorted back to the motorway so looks like 5-15 away after the match
