HIYA!!!!

You will have to excuse any mistakes made in this post as I now have flu and the JDs and coke from last night aren't helping!

Anyway,we got the train down which was almost a booze train except there was only 4 of us, one of whom doesn't drink! We met up with a couple of people and got to the RAH which isz full of jobsworths! We went upstairs and sent John and Matthew down to get the six of us programmes but the bloke on the door said it was one per-person.So the rest of us went down and the same bloke told us it was only people coming through the front door who could have one! The b.stard! We went in and we were right at the top on the balcony(the standing area) which was good as we could see everything. The first half was a bit boring I'm sad to say. It was introduced by Eric Clapton who has a really boring voice and was mainly Indian music(Ravi Shankar was there) which was good in parts but I found it difficult to get into.

The second half was much better! They palyed a few songs I didn't know as I don't have any of the solo Harrison albums but I enjoyed it all the same. Clapton was really good, except when he was talking. He played a really good version of Taxman which is one of my favourites. There were some prog-rock guys there that I didn't recognise but apparently some bloke from Procul Harum was on the keyboards. Jools Holland was excellent as ever and there was this really good female singer with him who I don't know the name of but was amazing all the same. The monty python team(except John Cleese) were there and they were alright. They sang 'Sit on my Face' and 'I'm a Lumberjack'.Then Ringo came on and he did 'photograph' which I'd never heard before and he was quite good appart from his 'dad-dancing'. I felt sorry for him 'cos when he came on everyone clapped and cheered but when Macca came on he got a standing ovation!Throughout the evening we were the only ones dancing and singing along.People were looking at us all snooty-like but you've got to enjoy yourself and some people with t.v cameras were filming us.

So,in conclusion I'd have to say it was a brilliant night! They played all the classics and Macca did a version of 'Something' on the Ukelele with clapton doing the guitar solo . It ended with them singing a song which went 'I'll see you in my dreams...' which was played as they released loads of petals onto the stage-really sweet! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smilie_switch.gif" alt="" />
