Cookie & The Fans Forum

Recommended Posts

I wasn't at the Fans Forum last Thursday as I was up in Scotland.

What did Cookie have to say about how badly we've been playing for the last four months?? He doesn't strike me as the kind of manager that gives his players a good bollocking.

And that is definitely what they need.

They turn up to matches, thinking they can play at a canter and still take all three points.

Well, that may work against crap like Harrow and Hampton, but a half-decent team like Billericay will take advantage of such an attitude as we saw yesterday.

Sutton and Aldershot aside, I think the last decent performance I saw in the league was probably against Canvey Island.

That was 3rd September. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

You don't win the league with two good performances in five months, GHA.

A sign of a good team is one that plays badly and wins.

If you still think we're a good side, GHA, then you go on deluding yourself. I, personally, am more of a realist.

The fact of the matter is; we are second in the league, and have a very good chance of getting out of this so-called 'league.' Being a realist, you should recognise this fact.

We've played badly and won against very poor sides.

Then we come up against a half-decent (not even good) one in Billericay and we lose.

I am a realist. I predicted a home win for Billericay in the Prediction League. I was proved right.

As a relatively young Arsenal fan, GHA, you have only really known success in your time as a football fan. I fear you have taken it for granted.

Don't you remember in 1999/2000 when Dagenham won it, you were still insisting we'd win the league with about six games remaining with Dagenham about 17 points ahead!??

I'm sure it was something like 'Dagenham are only 29 points ahead, and there are still 10 games to go.'

So we've been winning, then (Never mind the fact that we haven't been playing well)? And winning brings success.

I know that we are 2nd in the table, and we have been winning matches. It doesn't matter how well we played, we got the three points. It's like the Arsenal-Spurs match, the 1-1 draw. Loads of Spurs fans at school were banging on 'Spurs completely outclassed you, you were really lucky, did you watch the match, we should have thrashed you.' At the end of the day, the score was 1-1 and both teams went home with a point. We can play badly, but if we win, we take home three points and we are successful.

Zeal. Would you prefer City to play superbly and draw 1-1 every week, or play crap and win a fair few games?
