Windsor 6 - 1 Sandhurst

Well a windy, blustery and rather cold night attracted a sparse crowd. With Windsor missing a few key players (Hicks and Ben) and a new keeper on show I wondered what the game might be like.

Those who didn't turn up missed a consummate display by Windsor who played some sublime football and dominated the game from start to finish. Sheehan controlled midfield, both wings were ripping poor Sandhurst apart and all in all the gap between Prem and Div 1 was obvious beyond doubt.

Windsor must have hit the bar three or four times in the second half with the last shot to hit the post not only rattling said post but bouncing out to hit George on the back of his legs and go in. He did look a touch offside (not to mention embarrassed) when the ball went in, but was he when it was hit, the lino said no and we all celebrated.

It is fair to say that it really was not Sandhurst's day, they were outplayed but to give credit they tried to play football. This may have been part of their downfall, they allowed Windsor to play and the group of players we have can play. The premier is much more physical and you can see some our chaps trying to play nice football and being muscled out, something I feel Windsor are getting better at in the centre of the park but we often lack in the box.

All in all this is now a winnable cup, one of South Park and Epsom will go out at this round, I feel windsor will take this seriously and want to win a trophy, the league would be amazing but to get a trophy in the bag would give us great confidence and help us push on.

I enjoyed it and those who didn't make it missed out on a thoroughly entertaining performance by Windsor, a strong sub appearance by Kane, some truly impressive goals (The passing for Kane's goal and the fantastic bit of Skill by George for I think it was Harry's goal topped my list) and a great attitude.

Also a note on the ref, he decided not to book players early on but give them a talking to and allow the game to flow. I didn't think the game was dirty and when he did book a few players it was deserved. We have refs who would have thrown the cards around from about he tenth minute but the game didn't need it and even benefited from this refreshing attitude.

Considering the amount of games that were postponed a big thanks to Gouldy for keeping the pitch playable, another immaculate playing surface.

All in all top marks and lets continue it into the league

Sparse for us yes, but I counted 96 bodies at one point which is not so smelly.

I don't think the full back made a single tackle on Kyle Lucas. I know I keep banging on about him but it's a pleasure to watch him right now.

And the ref - yes I agree. Their No 5 wouldn't have got past 60 mins with many refs!

As for Gould's 2nd, (couldn't see myself but) the lino was absolutely, and very calmly, certain that he was onside as he said a defender on the far side was in front of him.
