Non League UK updates and enhancements!!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We have almost completed major upgrades to this site. The bulk of the changes are to provide you with a much improved environment in which to get the latest results, fixtures, tables and information on your favourite team.

We now list 2,500+ teams, the majority of which are non-league! if you would like to see a full list head over to http://www.nonleague.co.uk/articles/all_clubs.html These include at least the address of the home ground, a map showing the location and a step by step navigation to get you from your home or work to that club!

We also list almost 200 leagues and divisions covering football clubs in England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. At the very least these include details of all the clubs in each sub-division and a league & division maps showing the location of each member club. Many also include fixtures, results & league tables.

Some of the enhancements and changes made recently to the site

  • New faster and more powerful server giving a more stable environment
  • Modified the forums structure
  • Modified code to make many pages appear quicker - milliseconds are important!
  • Enhanced league section - http://nonleague.uk/leagues
  • More league tables within leagues and divisions
  • More fixtures & results within leagues and divisions
  • Clubs updated for the 2014/15 season in almost 200 leagues & divisions
  • Improved the search on every page to remove the error - now even easier to search for a club
  • Made changes to the mobile skin to make it a bit easier to navigate to your league or forums on the move
  • Updated the pyramid pages for each of the home countries - England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland
  • Many other minor changes and corrections across the site

As a result of improving the league section, we have included more tables, fixtures & results and have therefore closed the separate league tables & results section to avoid duplication of this information. Likewise the majority of the maps will now redirect to the league or division pages. The more general maps for different steps have been kept including our map showing all non-league clubs in the UK (that we cover)

Those leagues that do not have league tables or fixtures/results we will try and add them, but we need to find sites that have them without noisy adverts, which is why we can't show Mitoo or Pitchero sites both of which seem to like showing adverts that have sound and will annoy anyone else in close proximity to you!! I wish that all leagues would use the FA's excellent full time service, maybe as an addition to their own website, as this would also enable clubs to have the details to share amongst their supporters!!

I would urge everyone to check their own teams page, use the search or the master page or navigate via the leagues home page to find your club. Many members can edit many of the details themselves or you can submit a ticket via the link at the bottom of the club page. The more information that we have, the more chance that non-fans will find your club and hopefully start to follow your team. If you feel we do not have space for a certain piece of information, please let us know!  Some people have recently submitted updates via our ticket system. These have not been ignored and now that the bulk of the changes have been made, we will go through these and make the required updates to the clubs.

Other sections of the site such as our Gallery, Videos, Member Map, Football Match Calendar and Community Events Calendar continue to be part of the overall site. Please feel free to visit these sections to further publicise your club and its activities.

We hope that the changes made will improve your experience of Non League UK and that you will encourage others to use our services.

Finally if you feel that anything can be improved or if you spot a mistake, please do let us know!

Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy the changes made and will make use of the enhanced facilities offered at Non League UK.

Ian & Sheryl Walmsley
