New boy Vallis set for Salisbury debut

New signing Jack Vallis is line for his Salisbury FC debut tomorrow night against Fawley at the Ray Mac (Tuesday October 6th, kick-off 7.45pm).

Vallis, signed from Frome Town recently, has been nursing a rib injury but is likely to figure in the important Sydenhams Wessex Premier game due to defensive injuries.

Central defender Callum Brockway picked up an ankle injury in the FA Vase win over Folland Sports on Saturday and Calum Hart dislocated a shoulder.

Commercial manager Mandy Woolford drove Calum to Odstock Hospital where the shoulder was put back in.

Said Whites manager Steve Claridge: "I spoke to Calum on Saturday night and thankfully he was in discomfort but not in real pain any more.

"He's been told to rest for a couple of weeks and we'll see after that. Same with Callum Brockway really."

Whites are likely to be without Sam Roberts tomorrow as well due to a knee injury.

It leaves the squad stretched but Steve is confident replacements will step forward and take their chance.

"This is what we got Jack Vallis in for. He looks ready now," added Steve. "We'll be without some key players in key areas but hopefully we've got enough in the squad to get the job done.

"Fawley will not make it easy for us but we will be all out for those three points that will keep us top of the table."
