Concord Rangers 2-2 Wingate & Finchley

(1-0 HT)

 

Luke Cole and Michael Begg the Concord scorers.

 

New signing Luke Cole opening the scoring for Concord in the 43rd minute with a top class strike into the top corner from 20 yards.

 

Wingate replied soon after the break with the equaliser.

 

We went on to regain the lead with good work from Anthony Cook on the right hand side with 58th minute substitute Michael Begg slotting home soon after his introduction.

 

Again the visitors managed to square the match with a headed goal from the back post gifted to them following a bad defensive mistake.

 

Concord were the stronger of the two teams in the closing stages with three good chances going begging including a neat move involving Anthony Cook and Michael Begg down the right hand side with Danny Heale half volleying Cook's cross goalwards only to see it clatter back off the upright.

 

An excellent footballing display on show by both sides.
