Chertsey Town 4 Knaphill 3

Despite a good overall performance, Knaphill suffered a 4-3 friendly defeat on Tuesday night against Premier Division opposition Chertsey Town.

Knaphill took the lead through Craig Parrington after creating a number of good openings however Chertsey went into the break 2-1 up.

Our hosts increased there lead early in the second half before Gavin Branch and Ricky Hogsden levelled matters only for Chertsey to seal the encounter with a strike in the last few minutes.

Assistant Manager Dave Freeman describled the friendly as a good workout for some of the players who have not managed a full 90 minutes over the last few weeks and for those who are looking to break into the starting eleven. However injuries to Wes Harrison(hamstring)and Greg Alexander(thigh)did not help and both players are rated as doubtful for the home game against Cobham this Saturday and the short trip to local rivals Westfield next Tuesday night.

Team: Rogers(Shelley) Barbato, Cox, Branch, Campbell, Murrells, Harvey, Parrington(Hogsden), Davis, Alexander(Baker), Harrison
