In the spirit of Truth & Reconciliation, the City Council and Merseyside Police have announced an historic opportunity for the youth of the city to play a vital role in the Capital of Culture celebrations. During July and August, after they've all come back from terrorising Glastonbury, there is to be a 2 month long tracksuit amnesty. Simply wash your garment and hand it in at your local 'collection point' no questions asked! Priority will be given to chocolate coloured and petrol blue Lacostes which will then be stitched together and used to create a gigantic Capital Of Culture trackie flag that will stretch from the town hall to Cammel Lairds in a historic celebration of Mersey-pride. A ribbon will then be cut by our very own minister of mirth, Ken 'Doddy' Dodd and the flag will ascend into heaven because Liverpool truly is, (adopts John Wayne accent), 'the city of God.
