Midweek Fixtures (9th April - 12th April)

Tuesday 10th April

DIVISION ONE

1-0 London Colney v Ampthill Town (London Colney Division One Champions)

A report from another Forum:

London Colney 1 v 0 Ampthill Town - Spartan South Midlands Senior Division

Att 100(ish) - Prog basic 8 pager (but had all essentials) included with £5.00 admission.

Easy to work out why these two teams occupy the top positions in the Senior Division, some of the play was as good as any seen at level four this season. Homesters win clinched the championship with this win and Ampthill will surely be promoted over the course of the last three matches.

Looked like a goal fest early on when Knightly stooped low to head Warner's deft short cross into the far corner, but after the goal both teams defended well and there was a far amount of wayward finishing.

Second half saw Ampthill push forward in numbers but were thwarted by some good defending. Though Goodman really should have equalised when he headed over the bar from a corner delivered from the impressive Coulter.

Providing that two clubs keep their teams together during the close season, sure that both teams will do well in next seasons premier division.

First visit for approximately a decade, ground has acquired a seated stand, though very easy to avoid paying admission by walking through an open gate from the park.
