Kent Senior Cup

Recommended Posts

The Sittingbourne website claim that the Fleet's secretary told them that we are sending a strong first team squad? Why on earth would we want to risk first team players in the Kent Cup - pointless!! Even aside from the FA Cup, what happens if one of our main players gets injured?? I hope they are talking twaddle!!!

I think there 2 possible ways of looking at this:

1) we were [****!!****] on saturday - therefore Andy makes them play tonight for their places on saturday.

2) we had a dodgy line up last season when we went out to Erith & Belvedere at home and 'as it's only the Kent Cup' we would expect a similar choice of line up tonight - i.e. reserve players, fringe players & triallists.

I personally think option 2 will occur - but what do I know!

What it actually says is "Despite their FA Cup match with NOtts Co on Saturday, Gravesend are going to send a strong first team squad for tommorrows game!"

When you consider those players who haven't played for a while and need a bit of match practice, or will not figure in Saturday's match, then we can play:

Alex O'Reilly, Eddie McClements, Lee Shearer, Pat Gradley, Rob Owen, Lee Protheroe, Adrian Pennock, James Pinnock, Louis Evans, Ben Abbey, Dennis Oli, Jimmy Strouts.

Looks like a strong side to me when you are up against a DM Eastern Division side.
