Division One Central club Ware have appointed a well-known non-League name as their new Manager.

The Club has handed former Birmingham, Watford, Peterborough and Barnet striker Ken Charlery the hot-seat following the recent departure of Kem Kemal.

The 50-year-old, who won four international caps for St Lucia, will officially take charge of Ware's match at home to Barton Rovers next Tuesday.

He is best remembered for scoring the 89th-minute winner for Peterborough United in the 1992 Third Division play-off final and skippered the side under John Still in the 1994/95 campaign.

Charlery made 177 appearances for Posh and is affectionately known as 'King Kenny' at London Road. His time at Barnet saw him make 124 League appearances.

More recently he has been Assistant Manager at Harrow Borough, helping them to the Isthmian League Premier Division play-offs in 2010/11, and then moved to St Albans City to be Assistant Manager under former Barnet team mate David Howell
