FF News
Torquay United return to League business on Saturday with a pre-Christmas clash at Chester. Despite having a lengthy injury list, player-manager, Kevin Nicholson, is in upbeat mood ahead of the encounter. "We were solid, professional, worked hard for each other and took our chances in our last game," he said. "I will be looking for the same aspects to our play at the weekend, and if we can do that, regardless of who is opposition is, we will give ourselves every chance of getting the right result. "Hopefully Tuesday's victory will give us a shot in the arm and we can go out there and build upon it. "I like to think that we'll go there and put on another good show; we've got a number of injuries, we could probably field a pretty decent 11-a-side team with the players we have missing, but it gives some of the other lads the opportunity to step up to the plate and show what they are capable of." The players have been training at Torquay Academy in preparation for the clash with a Chester side who find themselves just below half-way in the table. "It's great to have this partnership with Torquay Academy," he added. "It can only be a good thing for all concerned and we have been training there and utilising the facilities in preparation for Saturday's game."
