FF News Posted January 14, 2016 Share Posted January 14, 2016 Mike Flynn will take charge of Stockport County this weekend as the Hatters take on Nuneaton Town at Edgeley Park. following the departure of manager Neil Young. Meanwhile the Hatters Board are working towards appointing a permanent new manager shortly. Director Richard Park said: "We are very grateful to Mike for agreeing to step up to the plate this weekend in difficult circumstances. Mike knows the players well, so we feel we are in very safe hands before we make our permanent appointment, and we think the atmosphere could be a bit special this Saturday with a club legend at the helm, and that could make a huge difference. Mike is County through and through, so we know the team will be thoroughly prepared. We also thank the supporters for their patience, and we intend to make a permanent announcement shortly as we look to get this season back on track." County legend Flynn has been working as a first team coach under Young, having originally returned to Edgeley Park in a scouting capacity. The former County skipper spent ten years as a player at Edgeley Park, making 460 appearances, reaching the League Cup semi-final and winning promotion to Division One, making him the most successful captain in the club's history.
