Aldershot Town FC is celebrating a technology upgrade this season with a new digital LED scoreboard from Messagemaker Displays.

The new screen is already benefiting The Shots’ fans, offering increased interaction, with the potential to generate additional revenue for the club through brand name sponsorship
SHOTS 2and advertising by local businesses.

The new large screen format incorporates the latest display technology, introducing a new degree of sophistication and increased flexibility.

With a full colour, eye-catching display updated in real-time, big screen LED displays can also allow additional video material to be shown bringing a new dimension to the matchgoer experience.

The scope for different uses in future is huge and includes video replays of critical goals and information about high scoring players, plus match highlights at half-time or even fan-based announcements, from birthdays and marriage proposals to team mascots.

Offering a low-cost way for local businesses and associated brands to advertise, the new screen also enables the club to promote its hospitality facilities for hire as a venue and to customise events with personalised messaging and company branding opportunities.

As a focal visual point, the big screen display is also ideally located for broadcasting health and safety messages and key event information.

Investing in new technology can be daunting for lower league teams. Thanks to a unique deal with Messagemaker, Aldershot Town FC has been able to take early advantage of the new technology at a low up-front cost.

Explains Tony Ford of Messagemaker:

“Messagemaker has developed a fast, low cost route to installation which is opening up new opportunities, especially for smaller venues. For clubs who are looking to upgrade SHOTS 1their facilities, it’s worth checking out the new big screens - the cost could be cheaper than you think.

Moreover, the income from advertising revenue means the improvements could actually be self-funding.”

The new screen is one of a number of displays installed in football clubs and sports facilities in the past year and marks the start of what Messagemaker hopes will be a long-term relationship offering all-round benefits.

The Shots are delighted with the new screen and appreciative of Messagemaker’s encouragement.

Comments Shahid Azeem, Club Chairman, “The support and advice we received from Messagemaker made the whole process go smoothly.

We look forward to expanding the use of the screen within the club over the next year.”
