just been told by the wife that the picture of the JETS Xmas party needs permission from the parents to be shown on the web......after what has just happened do you think it is wise to publish it????

 

Anyone else agree with me to have it removed??

You DO need written consent for pictures of under 16's to appear on the web. Not a matter of opinion or discussion fact.

Take it you haven`t got kids then!!!......makes me shudder to think that there are people out there that love to surf the web looking for photos like this.

 

It happened at my sisters kids school, some nutter traced these two kids back to the school and eventually followed them home,(you may recall a story going around Enfield approx May 2003).

 

When it happens on your own doorstep, it brings it home how vulnerable we are!!!

JohnBoy - I have made a couple of calls to inform folks that they need consent or remove them. Could be that they have consent. But good point. I am sure it was done with the best intentions.

If there are any Parents who object to the photo being on the Web Site they can contact me at the usual contact addresses & numbers. It has been put on the Web Site to show what a HUGE Success the "JETS" Party was yet again,and how much the Kids were enjoying them selves.

 

I know there are some very sad perverts around, but what are we to do? I suppose we wont be able to say who our "JETS" Mascots are soon!!!! Sad very sad.

Seeing as there is some confusion over the matter of the large photo being on the web or not, I've removed it for now. However, I've left the smaller one on and if the kiddies parents want a larger copy of the photo they can contact Gilli and have the image sent to them. That was the original thought behind the photo being there in the first place.

 

It's a shame that a harmless image posting on the website has to be vetted in case of misuse by nutters or perverts, but that just reflects what a sick society we live in.
