From the current squad who would you keep/offload?

Mine keep list would be: Foster, Steer, Daly, Gyoury, Haddow, Spencer, Miller, Boot, Hodge, Harris, Hyatt, Wilkinson, Barrowcliff, Moller, Murphy.

 

Offload list: Brown, Payne, Bakishan, Braich, Deaner, Bartley.

 

Only one i haven't included is Seedal as he's hardly been given a run in the side.

Personally, I'd add Boot & Gyoury to the offload list. Many of the offload list are squad players only and are basically reserve players.

 

Mind you, I'd only start offloading people now if it made money available for bringing new and better quality players into replace the ones were releasing.

You just cannot get rid of Tony Boot! As poor as he's played this season he proved last season how good a finisher he is when given the chances. And you said yourself about how our squad lacks depth.

 

If anything, we should be looking to get players in first before thinking about clearing out reserve players.

And who are we going to replace Boot with? Andy Deaner perhaps?

I doubt if Boot is on a long-term contract so we probably wouldn't get an actual transfer fee, it would just be his pay that is freed up to bring someone else in. Same goes for most of our players probably (I don't know this for a fact though). If this is the case they get Hodgey on a decent contract quick !

I believe we have a decent replacement in Matt Seedel for Deaner. Seedel is a much better player - great first touch, good finish, strong on the floor and strong aerially. He'll get his chance and hopefully prove me right!

 

By removing Boot and his wage, you could potentially bring in one or maybe two players who will give their all for the side for 90 minutes. At present, Boot doesn't look interested in working for the team, hence my call to let him go.

I agree, Seedal will be a perfect replacement for Boot, maybe even an improvement? We all know Boot and Miller dont work as a partnership so i say give Seedal a go, he has been first class in the reserves and played well when he came on for the first team.

We need a Central Midfielder, a Right midfielder so Spencer can move into the Middle and a right back. But top of the list must be a keeper?

We need a keeper anyway as backup... more important is to get two new defenders and at least two new midfielders.

Anyone talking about getting rid of Boot is talking utter rubbish. Even though no where near top form at the moment he's scored 10 goals this season. It's akin to saying ooh yeah we'll get rid of Van Nistlerooy - so we can bring in a defender. Admitedly we do urgently need to draft someone in at the back with a bit of pace.

well we have to drop miller or boot because all three strikers are having to play in midfield as well as up front.

maybe if we had a midfielder in place of booty behind the strikers we may be a little more solid

hi there nathen and all hope all is well dave here. i have noticed still no reports on main reports pages of the disasterouse games against croydon and windsor but nathon wins again by being honest. anyway i don't want to upset anyone as nobody realy wants to report on games that have gone wrong. once again we need somthing to wake are teem up before we fall compitly apart with no return. can somebody comfirm that a ticket will availible for the launch sometime as do not feel fair making an affert to get somewhere not served proberley if attal in that part of maner park and walk ''dogey area to walk best of times'taxies from slough normaly rip off muchents trying to gain more than the fair is although some compines and drivers do this but are fair and more or less correct and i am concearned i may get tuned away and back track to where i had came from making life difercault. most bouncers can be quite difercault but are only there to protect clubs. this is fairly similer to naitonwide confernce clubs up to premier who have strict checks for things of danger and take caps off bottles'strange'and give you just the bottle without lid back which is a strange rule for people who have long journeys who whnt just watter to sip through the game. i do agre with brief bag checks as long as the stewards don't do a southport and ask you basicly to show or get out all the indivigoal items has put me off confernace matches or made me feel uncomfotable when we were there'hopefully to be there again whith some trust from some of the clubs but not all,of them. going back to the polish club this is realy i guess to control and get approximate numbers so compite strangers uknkown can'nt slip in and cause worring for the people like us who are there. take care see you all soon proberbly walton next week. fianly if anyone cam make sure im comfortable and feel free to go to this and any other events with the knoladge i will be maid welcombe like at many matches and clubs i have been to slough and windsor allways. up the rebels lets keep afloat with all news and important matches coming up.
