Daily Dose - It's a crying shame the excellent Colin Phillips couldn't have stayed around for a longer period of time, I believe he was only at Icknield Way for the 2015/16 campaign however the Club had really started to go places under his leadership, they almost beat Ampthill Town in the Challenge Trophy, losing on penalties, and beat Aylesbury United Reserves 12-0 in the Division Two Cup:

The Aylesbury & District League are still looking to begin on Saturday 3 October with sadly no cup competitions planned

Do we know what the Aylesbury & District League have decided in terms of their 2020/21 campaign, is that null & void, it never really got off the ground did it as after a late start anyway of Saturday 3 October Tring Corinthians AFC Development only played six Division One League matches, a win and three draws at Icknield Way and two wins at FC Titans and 4-2 at runaway leaders Great Missenden on Saturday 12 December:

Following a recent Committee meeting the Aylesbury & District League have bravely decided to resume their 2020/21 season starting from Saturday 10 April and have even stipulated that Club's are able to play on Saturday 3 April if they wish to and if there is an opponent available and a Referee. Should any Club's be unable to carry on for whatever reason they are requested to make contact with the League as soon as possible, and before Saturday 20 March, to withdraw however hopefully that won't be the case for Tring Corinthians AFC Development. The League plan to play out to a conclusion even if it means Club's playing three games in the space of a week, their fixture Secretary Margaret Stevens is going to be busy for the next two months or so however Karen can take a leaf out of her book. Tring Corinthians AFC Development last saw Division One action on Saturday 12 December when impressively winning 4-2 at runaway leaders Great Missenden and inflicting the Chiltern Hills Club's first dropped points of the season, the Saturday prior to that Holmer Green Old Boys had managed to come away from Icknield Way with a 1-1 draw however Martin Hearn's men would no doubt have been ring rusty as they hadn't played for six weeks, since Saturday 24 October, when drawing 4-4 against FC Bierton in a thriller at Icknield Way with all four goals coming from Liam Burnett. Watch this space for further details on the conclusion of Tring Corinthians AFC Development's Aylesbury & District League Division One campaign:

With the season extended to Saturday 12 June, Tring Corinthians AFC Development will resume their Aylesbury & District League Division One campaign with a visit to Aylesbury Raiders on Saturday 10 April, kick off 2.30pm, only FC Titans have sadly had to withdraw from the League albeit for this season only so presumably Tring Corinthians AFC Development's 3-1 win there on Saturday 10 October will unfortunately have to be expunged and the goals scored by Ryan Curtis, Connor Hearn and Josh Sawyer that afternoon chalked off. The following Saturday, 17 April, Tring Corinthians AFC Development travel to Stoke Mandeville and then to FC Bierton on Saturday 24 April who drew 4-4 at Icknield Way in October when Liam Burnett netted all four goals in a pulsating contest. More Aylesbury & District League Division One fixtures will be announced shortly, matches will be played behind closed doors until the lifting of some of the pedantic restrictions on Monday 17 May however presumably it will be possible to inconspicuously watch from some vantage point if wishing to do so. Meanwhile the First team have arranged a friendly with Holmer Green Development at Icknield Way on Saturday 3 April before embarking on their SSML Spring Cup campaign for the remainder of April and early May where they are grouped with Berkhamsted Raiders, Bovingdon, Sarratt and Totternhoe, dates and venues will be announced shortly.

Tring Corinthians AFC take on Bovingdon on Saturday (10 April) in the first of their SSML Spring Cup group fixtures, they then travel to Berkhamsted Raiders the following Saturday, and the salubrious surroundings of the Orbital Fasteners Stadium, before entertaining Totternhoe on Saturday 24 April, their final group fixture is at Sarratt's King George V Playing Fields on Saturday 1 May. Tring Corinthians AFC hosted Holmer Green Development last Saturday (3 April) in a friendly fixture and were never in the game, disappointingly going down 3-0 to the Hellenic League Division Two East outfit. Meanwhile the Reserve side visit Aylesbury Raiders on Saturday in the resumption of their Aylesbury & District League Division One campaign:

A groundhopper was at Tring Corinthians AFC Development's Aylesbury & District League Division One fixture at Wingrave on Saturday (8 May) where they lost 4-0. Since the League's eagerly awaited resumption of play on Saturday 10 April, Tring Corinthians AFC Development have unfortunately had a hapless time, losing six of their seven fixtures with only a 6-1 win at basement side Rivets FC on Saturday 27 April to boast about with goals from Liam Burnett, Ryan Curtis, Connor Hearn and a hat trick from Gabriel Mititelu, they can't be looking forward to entertaining Stoke Mandeville FC at Icknield Way on Saturday (15 May), kick off 2.30pm:

Wingrave (3) 4 Tring Corinthians Development (0)
Aylesbury & District Division One.
Att 19.
A Tweet yesterday evening said both Wingrave teams were at home today. The Development side were using the usual home venue the old Rec in the middle of the village while the 1st XI were at Wingrave Park which is a sports centre on the edge of the village as you enter from the west.
A number of teams have used this facility in the past, Infact when I did Wingrave a few years ago the fixture was listed as Wingrave Park but ended up at the centre of the village.
The game was rather spoilt by the wind, thankfully there was no rain. The home side had the wind in the first half and were on top for much of the half. Corinthians had a goal disallowed very early on.
The second period was more even but Wingrave were still on top.
Before the game the teams were in midtable separated by three points, Tring had a game in hand so could catch Wingrave with a win. The table now looks very different.
Two sides have dropped out of this division but some clubs still have five games to play despite the division being short.
I keep on thinking I'm nearing completing the league but new / one off venues keep popping up. Weston Turville was being used today, I've done that for a one off a few years ago. I think I need one new ground in Amersham and three tidy ups where there are more than one pitch in a venue.
As always in the Aylesbury League the standard was more than acceptable. The bonus today was the social club was open for takeaway hot drinks and toilet facilities. Two luxuries not afforded at many "grounds" I visit. In fact there was even a tarmac car park.
