The 61 FC (Luton) ran out 3-1 victors and went on to meet then FA Vase specialists Irthlingborough Diamonds in the Second Round, narrowly losing a home replay 1-0 after a thrilling 2-2 draw at Nene Park prior to the grounds refurbishment years later following the merger of Irthlingborough Diamonds and Rushden Town in 1992 under Max Griggs:

Sad news that former The 61 FC (Luton) player and defender Robert Brown recently passed away, pictured in the top row, third from the right next to Richard Everitt. RIP Robert:

It’s with a heavy heart we announce the sad passing of Robert Brown. Robert was known throughout the local football leagues. Robert was known best for playing at 61fc under Richard Everitt for many years. He shared many happy times there and spoke often of his football mates. We will share funeral details when arranged.
