FA Vase Third Round - Saturday 2 December

Recommended Posts

Disappointingly just two SSML Club's remain in the competition at the Third Round stage, Biggleswade United and London Lions, good luck to them on Saturday:

What do we know about Midland League Premier Division Whitchurch Alport and Eastern Counties League Division One North Stanway Pegasus if anything, it will be very disappointing if both Biggleswade United and London Lions can't get through to the Fourth Round of the competition with home advantage.

Disappointing news, tie re-scheduled for next Saturday (9 December) meaning that the SSML Premier Division fixture between Biggleswade United and Sawbridgeworth Town is postponed:

All the Third Round results from yesterday although there were quite a lot of postponements including of course Biggleswade United v Midland League Premier Division Whitchurch Alport who try again next Saturday (9 December):

The draw for the Fourth Round of the competition and should Biggleswade United hopefully get through on Saturday in their re-arranged Third Round tie with Midland League Premier Division Whitchurch Alport:

Biggleswade United and Whitchurch Alport try again at the Verdant Stadium (Second Meadow) following the disappointing postponement last Saturday. Worryingly for Jordan Wright and Gareth Hunt's men their new opposite number at Whitchurch Alport, Adam Shillcock, who only took the reins last month, has added a number of quality players recently including attacking midfielder Ben Guest who was on Shrewsbury Town's books and was recently with Welsh Premier League Club Newtown AFC, Guest is fully expected to make his bow for the Midland League Premier Division outfit tomorrow afternoon:

Disappointment for Biggleswade United this afternoon, prematurely ending SSML interest in this season's competition, see a post match interview with visiting boss Adam Shillcock:

No longer SSML but over 350 photographs courtesy of photographer Chris Benn, a match report and the match programme from the Harefield United and Jersey Bulls FA Vase Third Round tie at Preston Park, Jersey Bulls won 1-0 with a goal on the half hour mark. Harefield United have been sorely missed since their departure from the SSML at the end of the 2021/22 campaign:

Just to say that Biggleswade United's Third Round conquerors Whitchurch Alport bit the dust last Saturday in the Fourth Round of the competition, losing 2-1 at home to Great Wakering Rovers, Stanway Pegasus, who disappointingly defeated London Lions on penalties in their Third Round tie, also exited the competition on Saturday, 2-1 at Romford. See the regionalised draw for the Fifth Round, it's so sad to see no SSML Club's taking part as well as, surprisingly, no Club's from the North East of the Country where previously they have dominated the latter stages:

FA Vase Fifth Round draw (ties to be played Saturday 10 February)

North
1 Emley v Whickham
2 Stourport Swifts v Worcester City
3 Hallam v Lincoln United

South
1 Bridgwater United v Deal Town
2 Tilbury v North Greenford United
3 Highworth Town v Great Wakering Rovers
4 Jersey Bulls v Falmouth Town
5 Hilltop v Romford
