Presumably the gamble is that you get to bring in someone like Will Dennis and save a (? much needed) few bob that can be spent on outfield players to boot. May reflect harsh reality-only time and experience will tell.

That's the gamble KGB.

It worked with Will Dennis but not the last time with some highly recommended keepers.

IMO the NLS is a tough enough division without experimenting with unknown keepers.

Are we are looking for a keeper who can use his feet, command his area and be a good shot stopper?

If so these types of keeper don't come cheap and are usually playing for the top non league clubs.

The loan keeper route imo is a bit of a cop out. Because they're at a league club you think they must be decent and the added bonus is that they will normally be cheaper than signing a permanent keeper.

Not forgetting that these league clubs, especially premiership and championship clubs have loads of keepers on their books just waiting to be farmed out and some are no better than in non league and will never make it as a pro.

I just hope we don't go down this route.
