Next England captain

David Beckham will offer his resignation as England captain today - if he hasn't already (check the timestamp - you heard it here first)

 

Should Sven accept it?

 

If so, who should be the next captain?

 

Gerrard, so long as he promises not to go to Chelsea and spend most of next season on the bench?

 

Ferdinand, so long as he promises to buy a calendar to remind him of important engagements?

I think Sven should acccept it. Beckham has had a bad tournament and didn't really lead the team. He looked like he wasn't fit and if so he shouldn't have played.

 

I have slagged of Gerrard since he has played at Liverpool and all the way up to the tournament. Since then he has shown me the character and determination that I believe could give him the captaincy.

Sol's your man, what a legend he was last night and should be around for the world cup at least.

Yeah i was thinking to have Sol as captin. He is after all the only true leader on the pitch.

No way, Beckham is an excellent captain for England, 1 bad tournament doesn't make a bad captain or player.

He has the key ingredient for Captain, he leads from the front, gives 100% everytime and is never afraid to sherk (sorry about the spelling!) responsibility.

He's a top man.
