It's Ashford

The reason for not choosing Dover this year is due to the fact that Margate would not pay the full cost of staging a game , the money that was offered by Margate would have meant that Dover made a loss per game,

Sorry as much as we would like to assist you through your troubles , we cant at this stage subsidise your club, as you know we have our own problems at present,

Good Luck at Ashford

It's all very well talking about loyalty but it can't all be one way. And for the last two and a half years,it has been. The club has got just about every decision wrong. The original scheme was stupidly over ambitous. They could instead have replaced the rotten main stand with a new centre stand of say 500 seats and sold 5 year season tickets for that to raise the money for extending it either or both sides. Instead they talk about Hotels and Casinos and all manner of silly schemes. Then they move to Dover for a season without Hartsdown Park being touched.

Next season they knock it down with no finance and no planning permission. And some foolish people think you can trust people like that.

The latest decision to go to Ashford is going to be the final straw for a lot of fans.

I think loyal fans who actually want to see a football club called Margate playing in the town, should think about either taking over the present club or starting a new one from scratch. Trusting the likes of Piper and Parmenter has to be the worst of all ideas.

Lets not forget a few months ago The council were involved in discussions with certain individuals on the supporters side i believe about safe guarding the name of Margate F.C. if necessary dropping down a status or two to achieve it >But KP convinced all and sundry that the dirty tricks dept were at work and they were out to ruin everything he was trying to do!!!So that put paid to that .So in my opinion attempts have been made to take over the club but have been blocked by KP.Well I think he has had his chance has failed and i cannot help wondering if he was to step aside other people might be interested in coming on board.I do not mean this to be offensive or critical of the guy who i know has kept the club going over the years.but I do believe that the club is in such a serious position that something desperate needs to happen soon!! Please if you do care about the club as we all know you do KP think about it!!!!!!!!!

If i'm really that clever i should have joined the board two years ago??? How clever do you think the people on the board are??

Your loyalty is very touching but don't you think it's just possible someone is taking you for a ride.???

With regards to the council talking to supporters, yes the council did listen to us in regard of the contingency plans.

The contingency plan was only hatched IN CASE THE CLUB FOLDED!! Some people saw that as an attempted take over. Nonsense!

It was only to be in place, with the knowledge of the club, if the club folded.

The reason it was seen as a take over, was the fact that it did not include any of the present incumbents at the club. Not to say that some or all of them would not have been included at a later date, but KP made sure that this was all blocked and consequently there is currently no Plan B. (unless the club have decided on an exit strategy or alternative plan since that date)

I have always sincerely hoped that there was never any need for a contingency plan, but any project no matter how sure-fire would have a plan B.

I just hope that the club agree heads of terms very soon. Not sure if all the info is in place to do so yet.

Lets hope the season kicks off and all this crap can be put behind us.

Up the gate

Ian

I think the fans need to get together to work on a plan B. I've got serious reservations about trusting the people running the club. They seem to keep on letting the fans down. I think it would be good if fans got together and put some pressure on both the club and the council. Trusting the club is not a sensible idea and i think hardly anyone does...

I have spoken recently to Dave Canham and the Leader of the council. There seems to be diametrically opposed views

I am still not sure which way the club is going to go!

Just in case anyone is wondering, I do occasionally cross paths with the Leader in my day-to-day work. I have not spoken to him with the sole intention of talking football.
