A chance meeting during a coaching contract in Ghana last season by a representative of Clapton football club has lead to an appeal on the countries’ national side’s behalf via the present manager of the Isthmian League Division Two outfit, Colin Walton.

The Ghanaian national side will arrive in England on Saturday, July 24th and hope to arrange a series of warm-up games with sides of comparable Isthmian Premier Division standard or above.

Please contact in the first instance Colin Walton acting on behalf of the African Olympic representatives.

For further details about match dates etc., Colin Walton can be contacted via mobile on 07958 285740 or e-mail at claptonfc@hotmail.com or alternatively by letter addressed to c/o Clapton FC, The Old Spotted Dog, Upton Lane, Forest Gate, London E79 NP.

After the warm-up matches that will form part of their preparation, Ghana will fly on to Athens to compete in the forthcoming Olympic games.
