Saturdays Crowd

After all the "Rabble Rousing" that has gone on on this site in the last week or so regards the council office demo...........what a crap crowd turned up when you'd have thought a large attendance most wanted.

If anyone looked at a crowd of less than two hundred at such a critical time I'm guessing they'd think that there wasn't much worth saving.........

I was there..........where was everyone?............Up the Gate!javascript:void(0)

As stated I too was on lates 13.30p.m-23.30pm.

NLP state 166 but we must'nt take too much out of that. Believe me the fans and people are still solidly behind the club and its goals. There must have been many reasons, obviously, for the missing thousands. Stick with it guys. I will be there tuesday, possibly others too.

I think a lot of people have just about had enough of everything.Especially after the meeting last Wednesday.Maybe not a lot of people there, but the ones who maybe should have been ie representatives of the club were not.Whether certain people like it or not, there is a lot of ill feeling being shown towards the club after what SE said at the meeting.I can only say what I hear people saying around the town and that is, it would appear the club or directors or who ever is supposed to be in charge are actually the ones at fault, and by not being at the Winter Gardens on Wednesday shows they possibly were afraid of what they might hear. This is why a lot of people have had enough .I know the truth hurts but this is how it is.!!!!!!!!

That meeting was specifically designed to do JUST that. Make enemies FOR us.Rock the boat.To lose some of the vast public sympathy & support we have accrued. But it hasn't worked. People of Thanet aren't that easily fooled. It came at a time when the pressure was and still is mounting on various people and departments. INTIMIDATION of ANY sort will not win the day.

The meeting was planned and carried our in the full knowledge that the club would not attend as previously they didnt on another occasion, and thereby allow comments such as yours to be made. We are not fooled so dont delight in your misguided assumptions. We are more liked and supported than you realise. (Please see other "post" concerning the end of the petition)

Yeah ok saturdays crowd was bad but lets remember that many fans dont like travelling to ashford. Ive been going to margate games for years and the crowds at homelands are missing many of the supporters that used to go to Hartsdown.Dover was easier to get to but traffic, time and cost aswell as the cost of getting into the match all add up. Supporters will come back, you'll see! We need to get back to hartsdown, no question! As for the crowd outside the council offices. Many of us had to work but my family were all their. I think you'll find that most of margate folk support us and the cause.

[color:"blue"]Excuse me, but aren't we missing the point here a little ?

Yes the attendances are low at Homelands - isn't that, along with the difficulties of getting to see a match, what we're fighting against?

Personally I think that to get one hundred & sixty people to see (on current form) two of the worst teams in the League .. when the venue is an hours drive away from our proper home on a cold, damp and windswept Saturday should be see as an achievement not a disgrace !!

Surely to have regular attendances of 400 - 600 would be a negative to the rebuilding of Hartsdown, it'd give the Council another excuse to delay the project .. they'd say why bother, the fanbase will travel elsewhere to see the games.

Well Said Peter.

Infact, i refused to travel to Ashford.
I want to see margate play at hartsdown park, the dover arrangmnets was bearable, but ashford is too long!
