Trust membership

Perhaps this should be posted on the Trust forum, but I would guess that is less viewed...

 

 

A comment from someone in another thread reminded me that I am still carrying around my 2003-4 Supporters' Trust membership card.

 

Now you could argue (and probably will) that it should be my responsibility to renew my membership each year, but I was expecting to be sent a reminder (an email would do) and instructions. So far, nothing.

 

It is not enough to assume that Trust members will be able to see notices at matches, or handed out in the programmes. Some supporters cannot attend many, or (Yousef!) any matches and must rely on other means of communication.

 

How many other supporters who joined the Trust in the first year have also failed to renew their membership through lack of a reminder?

 

Obviously this is an additional admin task, but we presumably have someone looking after membership details? Is renewal not a major part of their function within the trust?

 

 

Or have I got hold of the wrong end of the stick? Did the £10+ I paid in 2003-4 give me Trust membership 'in perpetuity'? (ie 'forever' <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)

No you were quite right - the £10 is an annual subscription and if you fail to renew you cease to be a member of the trust.

 

It was my understanding that a letter had gone out to every single current member of the trust reminding them to renew their membership. Whether you were missed out due to a "technical" error or whether your letter was lost in the post remains to be seen. I will try and find out for you.

Now you come to mention it, I vaguely remember problems with lack of membership forms or such like when I joined, although this was all (AFAIK) sorted subsequently (I have received Trust-related mail at home since).

 

If it's of any help, my membership number is 57.

 

BTW - if there is a concern about reminders being lost in the post, a follow-up reminder is always a good idea - anything to retain members (and their subscriptions:)) in the Trust.

i sent an email to the trust address on the website about a week ago and i have yet to recieve a reply!

we did have a few problems, ie to remind members that the membership is for one year and is re newable...we did however send reminders out just before christmas...sounds like some did not get them ....apologies...

 

Please re new and gary will be sorting an online form....

I didn't get a reminder either, Chris, although it was very clear on the original forms and in all of the written coverage about the Trust that it was an annual charge. We also stressed it during the presentation at the launch.

Ian the reminders were only sent to the ones that had not re newed up until dec 2004....

The reminders were sent as i done them myself, however only to people who had not re-joined from the previous year.

 

Due to some problems with membership lists i understand not all the 'non members' were reminded, however i think Chris S said there is an new accurate list so in future there shouldn't be a problem.

dont worry about it at the mo, ill probably join during the close season, will speak to mark (my mums cousins incidently) at one of the games about it
