Mr White VN & Daish Out

Recommended Posts

Just a number of questions.

1. What no comment after the performance at Woking?

2. Cat got your tongues?

3. Wives/girlfiends given you such a beating you can't connect with the keyboard just yet, let alone see the screen?

4. Women & you in the same sentence? Whoops, silly me. Mrs Hand & her five lovely daughters proving such a distraction you haven't yet registered that you look a right pair of plonkers at the moment?

5. For WVN. What, pray is the relevance of the "White" in your screen name? You have such a sad desire to be mean where nobody can call your bluff that I'm beginning to suspect you might share more than just your psychological inadequacies with the now departed Fleet Loyal/Longshanks.

6. For Daish Out. Come on. You're a re-incarnation of old Chubby Jim or whatever his name was, calling for meetings in The Plough & then being nowhere in sight - you are aren't you? Where was your wonderful protest at the Cambridge match?

Awaiting your replies, gentlemen.

Lennie Mac

PS Yes I have just celebrated our win today with the best part of 2 bottles of a rather cheeky red wine, hence the unearthly hour of this posting. What have you two saddos been doing?

It is not worth even considering a response to your alcohol induced rant!

Be honest, if I hadn't told you I'd had a celebratory drink or two you wouldn't have known. Your earlier anti Daish postings were far more rantlike than my little number, which I reckon is pretty measured by comparison. Gloating & defamatory, yes; rant or crap, I'd suggest not.

You went off at pessimistic half [****!!****] much too early old son & will just have to accept the flack whenever we rack up a good result. Unfair I know, because if you respond in kind, if we get thrashed, you'll be accused of enjoying the Club's misfortune, which I'm pretty sure you don't. C'est la vie.

As a fellow anti-daish man i'd like to add my thoughts. Like WVN im perfectly happy to be proved wrong and would love nothing more to see Daish take us into the playoffs and higher. What we have to keep in perspective still are the following:

1) Daish has an increased budget from Andy Ford. How much of an increase this is only the people closest to the club know. Therefore we should expect improved performances.

2) What will people say when/if we report a loss of 100,000 gbp for the financial yr. Im not saying we will report a loss of that size at all but im being a realist as we're not going to report a profit.

3) In respect to point 2, we will then say that resources have been wasted. We have signed full time professionals, yet Glozier, Grant, Gooding, Kerr, J.Smith cannot get in the team at present. These people are not going to be paid 5k pounds a yr to be full time.

Again, while i hope we're now going in the right direction lets get things into perspective a bit at how we've spent the cash and where the cash will come from in the future compared to the budget.

Everyone (incl WVN and Matt) is entitled to express their views and opinions (providing they are not racist of course), I for one don't really give a monkeys if they dislike Daish, it's up to them. Both have a strong argument for and against and I can respect that, it's a shame that we all pounce on each other as soon as the mood shifts, and this is going to make us the laughing stock of the Conference forum fan-base..!

Unless an opinion affects you personally, I really can't see the point in bitching and wasting time bickering about it.. Let's get on side and discuss more meaningful topics instead of going on and on about the same old b0110cks.

I thank you...

A perfectly rational concern, Matt, which any Fleet fan would be mad not to share, given our switch to full-time football.

Fortunately, Brian's record suggests he is to be trusted when he says that an increase in attendances isn't required in order to carry through the full-time plans, and we can only hope he's right on this one too.

Agreed.

A crap team I could live with, seen plenty of that in the past.

Relegation I could live with, been there done that.

Bankruptcy would be a real bummer.

Everything Brian has done so far suggests that he knows what he is doing, so although I share Matts concerns over the budget I trust Brian to get it right.

Plus I've got my fingers crossed for a decent run in the F.A. cup... Exeter won the lottery last year this time it could be us.

Matt - Couldn't agree more. As somebody who worked (for nothing) for the Club for over a decade, I had to put up with a mantra of "speculate to accumulate" nonsense from unrealistic moaners when Lionel Ball was saving the club from bankruptcy.

No.8 - Yes, agreed. I just get really wound up by the "What can we moan about now? brigade," many of whom have, amazingly, been following the Fleet for longer than my 35 years.

JC & Slarti - Bang on target. I believe Brian is the best chairman we've ever had: Lionel Ball's prudence, mixed with just the right amount of cautious, properly researched, willingness to push out the boundaries.

WVN - I think you were wrong with your doom & gloom analysis pre season, but I note & respect your comments about Jacko & the possible signing of Iwan Roberts.

In any case, up the Fleet!

But aint we speculating to accumulate now by going full time on crowds that can't sustain it ?

Am I the only one concerned that barely 2 weeks into our first full time season the club have asked the trust to start up a players pledge ?

Lets hope the gamble pays off... Up the Fleet
