Yeading v Windsor Reserves

WEFC went down to Yeading last night after conceding a soft last minute goal, having outplayed the home team for the whole of the second half. WEFC fielded three debutants in Matt Baker; N'dour Lamine; and Marcin Gryka, and also welcomed back Dave Carroll. Yeading's pacy right winger was causing problems whilst WEFC had several clear chances early on, but the score remained at 0 - 0 at the interval. Yeading score early in the second half after which WEFC created chance after chance with some bright attacking football. The equaliser finally came after sustained pressure when Matt Baker scored from close range. WEFC pushed for the winner only to be undone right at the death. WEFC certainly deserved a point given the second half performance, but the failure again to take their chances cost them the game. Despite the defeat, there are many positives to take from the game, particularly an outstanding performance from Omar Maqsood in midfield. Next game is Berkhamsted at home on 15th Feb. Do come along and support the team.

Team line-up : Gardiner; Elford; Dirou; Dunlop; Abbott; Cahill (Edwards 70); Carroll(Nsubuga 80); Chukwu; Maqsood; Baker; Lamine (Gryka 75). Unused subs : Turner; Case.
