Sheppey United win Senior Les Leckie Cup

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Saw Sheppey win the Senior Les Leckie Cup last night at the ground of Lordswood.

We beat Sutton Athletic 6-5 on penalties after the game finished 1-1aet.

The game was fairly eventful with 2 sending offs (including our goalkeeper minutes into the second half) and Sheppey equalising almost as the ref was putting his whistle to his mouth to blow for full time.

This is now the 2nd cup the club have won in 3 years and the club also entertain faint hopes of securing the club's 2nd promotion in 3 seasons too but need to play 5 league games in the last 12 days of the season! This after the Kent County League scheduled no games for 4 weeks around the turn of the year. What was that saying again about brewery and organising? Would certainly apply to the Kent FA and the Kent County League it would seem. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Up the Ites!
