Hornchurch 2 Great Wakering Rovers 1

Urchins

Recommended Posts

Our perseverance today paid off with a much needed 2-1 win over Great Wakering after being a goal down. Wakering's goal came in the 30th minute when Dmitri Kharine sliced a clearance into the path of Mark Hampshire whose shot hit Kharine and looped into the net. A defensive error let in Danny Benstock a minute later but he was forced wide by visiting keeper Mark Hudson and shot across the face of the goal.

Wakering were camped in their own half for most of the second period and had Mark Heffer sent off on the hour after an off the ball incident. Striker Tommy Delgarno followed him 10 minutes later after a second bookable offence. Despite our domination we made little headway against a packed defence until the 83rd minute when Danny Benstock floated a ball into the area for Chris Stowe to lift his first time shot over Hudson and into roof of the net. The winner came with barely seconds to go as Adam Locke drilled the ball home from a half-cleared cross.

Line-up:-Kharine, McGowan, Bates, Gooding, Jopson, McDonald (Stowe 64), Locke, Fox (Cowley 53), Cripps, Martin (Carter 75), Benstock. Subs not used:- Wood (GK).

Yes that is very true, but hold up a bit, we've let teams off the hook 100 % in the last few weeks especially last week, with nothing to show for it so it evens itself out

All credit to Wakering for nearly holding out, but pls boys no whingeing!

bullshit man, we weren't lucky, we worked our socks off, alright, it wasn't pretty but I told you in a previous post about Ryman afternoons like these, we deserved the run of the ball and we deserved our win and we also deserved a decent referee at long last who wasn't prpepared to let a load of talentless, ill disciplined, pub players kick us off the pitch which is what they came to do, we should have won 6-1 but the three points will do nicely and thats the end of that. Lucky? were you really there my friend? Get lost.

what a ghastly bunch of supporters that lot were today, scored their miserable fluke off kharine (bless him...it can only get better) then proceeded to slag all the urchin players off with the usual rubbish vis rejects...waste of money...... la di da di da......what a wonderful silence descended upon them therefore when lockie scored the last gasp winner, what a wonderful chorus echoing across the old stad from the riverside......what was it....something about not singing anymore,,, a******e seaside jerks. No class at all.

What a bunch of jokers their supporters were, heard one of them gobbing off and come out with the most ridiculous statement, that they (Gt. Wakering) were delighted with there teams display even if the didn't earn 3 points, rather than be a bunch of over paid has-been's with no spirit like us (Urchins)!!!! Think that sort of statement just about sums up the type of jokers we play week in week out. I read a post earlier saying that clubs treat playing us like their cup final, I think that statement is spot on. I now know what envy and jealousy Manchester United supporters encounter.

Fair enough, you have your opinions, but there was no way we were lucky. We had more than the lions share of the ball, had plenty of chances and should have run out winners by a much more comfortable margin. Think we missed Jonsey today, who I feel sure, had he been on the end of a few of our chances, we'd have been home and dry long before their players started throwing their toys out their prams!! At the end of the day, it was a satisfying victory over a bunch of talentless spoilers. It feels like good has won over evil. I sincerely hope the Essex FA throw the book at those jokers.

lost the password again, anyway, well put young Mark, far from being without spirit, I thought that we showed lots of it today, it got even harder to win the game after they went down to nine men cos they just lined 8 up in the area and let us attack them, after what happened in the first half with that 'joke' goal being conceded, we showed true team spririt on a cold and wet true footie afternoon under the lights, kept our composure and discipline (when we could have easily got involved out there with their rugby playing hackers) and deservedly got the three points, well done Urchins, you never stopped and you got your reward.

I think the lads deserved a win, in the last 4 we havn't reallg got the points that we deserved. I think another drew or even a loss would have taken away some morale. This puts us back on track and the lads can go on to the next match ready to give some parkies a dam good spanking. Up everyone else coz,

" were gonna win the leauge,"

" were gonna win the leauge."

And every week the lads are gonna,

" walk down the Bridgy road, to see the Urchin aces."

" Coz were the Hornchurch urchins."

" The Hornchurch Urchins are safe."

" Coz were by far the greatest team the world has ever seen."

The Lads.

"jonesy gis a wave, jonesy, jonesy gis a wave."

Nice result lads, good to see we're back on track. Lockey's goal was awesome, how he's not still in the footy league im not sure.

dimitri's howler could have cost us vital points, is he worth the money we're payin him? Its something up for debate thats for sure.

Anyway, Taff still being tracked i see! Maybe his recent dry spell has put those league clubs off him for a while! well, we can only hope. The same two guys were there saturday as the other week, any one fill me in on whether they have approached the club?

Anyway, lets look forward to a good run in up to christmas, i'll be there boxing day for sure.

Cheers,

Wizard

nice to hear from you again....how much money are we paying Dmitri? we've all been wondering that and you seem to know so let us in on it please. As for Taff being tracked, we understand that they are not actually scouts but bailiffs on account of him not paying his hairdresser...we have had several offers for your services but we've declined them all on account of the fact that we like hearing from you every now and again with all your drivel...see you at the game on Tuesday...
