A) They will lose there council seats next year!

B) Hitler gave people a scapegoat "don't blame our econmomy on us, blame the Jews" No one likes to be told it's there fought!

Enoch Powell had everything that was different some people say he had a fear of Refugees.

If you were with a child and saw somebody who had a physical defect you wouldn't tell your children to fear them. you would tell them that they're no different!

C) Moving to the right is not the way to go you need to educate people!

I see you've studied your history well.

With regard to your quote (A), we will wait and see.

The problem is this. The general resident of this country, be him/her black/white jew/gentile, is sick and tired of three political parties.

1. In power (?) arguing amongst themselves.

2. Not in power, and critiscising 1.

3. Having a general pop at 1. and 2., and spending the rest of the time in the Commons Bar !

You can fool some of the people some of the time........

HOWEVER: If another option comes along, a la Munich 1930's ........................................

I'm afraid that's the way it's going, mate !

I know exactly what you are saying. I live on a modern council estate, in one of the most prosperous and right wing tory constituency's in England. (Look at my location. I don't hide)

At the last local election, our ward returned the lowest poll it ever has. Lib Dems got in, as usual.

I know the councillor in question very well. He is probably more right wing than most tories on the subject of Britain. As a councillor, they are TOLD what there political position is by their party.

Our local council has been told by central government to hold a percentage of vacated council properties for 'Emergency Asylum Seekers', (their words). I talk to many people of varying political persuasions, and at the end of the day, they will all 'Gel' from the 'left' the 'centre' and the 'right' and say, "Why should British people come second ?"

That is why i see a growth in parties like the BNP which will draw people from all other parties !

Hi UU ! Glad you got involved.

Problem is, Nationalism transcends ALL party feelings. I am NOT talking about racism, which I ABHOR ! I am talking about Love of Country.

I know people of ethnic bacgrounds from the Sussex area who are of the same mind as many people. Born and raised here, and sick and tired of seeing all their hard work being wasted on people who

1. Don't want to work.

2. Have just arrived in this country and are jumping the NHS and Housing queues.

3. Arriving here and causing mayhem on large housing estates by forming into 'gangs' that plod either does not want to, or can't be bothered to control.

I could go on and on, but....................

Hang on, feel I'm getting involved again here, you're going off course here, the nationalist and euro issues are totally seperate.

U619 & Big JR a plague on both your houses!!

The growth of the BNP derives primarily through poverty. The Asylum Seeker problem did not cause the riots in the mill towns of Burnley and Bradford, it was the lack of resource and employment, which created an environment where people felt marginalized and things came to a head. The BNP used the opportunity as they do with Asylum Seekers to magnify the differences.

The growth of the BNP is down to poverty and mistrust of the government. Who have made a mess of asylum and could probably do well to re-assess the mess they've created and sort it out.

U619 I don't think white gangs are rife in the country, I think this only occurs when set of people feel marginalised, like the minority group. I think white gangs tend to be reactive, usually to events or a form of perceived injustice. Whereas ethnic groups tend to stick together.

I could write more, but I've got a job to do!!

That is the college answer but in reality its the planners to blame

IE Never a race riot in Cockfosters or Esher or Westminster in fact large parts of Surrey cannot understand the question

When you allow entire communities to be wiped out by an innocent but 100% foreign culture why is it you believe there is some sort of technical social answer

Poverty is at its most extreme where all the negative issues are allowed to cluster in one location

Simple? do not allow all those negative factors to land in one off locations

Lets have the next batch of asylum seekers housed in the wealthiest part of Surrey and lets see if those bleeding heart liberals can calm down the good folks there

And as Steve said that could all be to do with poverty. These areas are not poverty striken , which hit out for somebody to blame for their problems.

Hardly entire communities talk about an exageration.I beleive this because often the reason is to do with social reactions, sometimes fear sometimes hate.

It is better to place asylum seekers in city and large town locations it is easy for them to intigrate and atempt to get work (which myself i beleive they want to get).

If there is a system able to deal with Asylum seekers and work, then i agree place them there.

As for bleeding heart liberals maybe it's more like got a heart liberals

U69 How can you state "not whole communities" have you ever worked in Brick Lane, I was born into and enjoyed my home community of Wood Green/Haringay,Manor House etc

That community is now 90% plus foreign to me

Vast areas of the midlands has undergone major culture change, fine I hear you say how lovely for the (innocent) newcomers to be able to bring their entire birthright culture with them! and the outgoing community! are they wrong to protest and if they do are they racist

The most stupid statement by the replaced culture when protesting and in doing so are called racist is "but I have many friends among the newcomers"

So let me say it another way "I have many friends in the pushed out culture" and do not for 1% blame the new culture

The planners who live in Cockfosters,Esher etc etc are the cynical cause of most problems (And both labour and conservative)

That is debate and discussion, and is part of the democratic process. I would be more worried if everyone in the government held the same opinion, and if the opposition parties did not seek out the weak parts of government policy to criticise.
