Bedford United 0 v 2 Somersett Ambury V & E

Spartan South Midlands League - Premier Division Cup

by Robert Brassett

Save moved into the next round of the Premier Cup with a 2-0 victory over Bedford United.

Save had a few chances early in the game Leon Archer and Phil Turner going close to hitting the target.

On 27 minutes SAVE went into a 1-0 lead when Leon Archer made a run through the midfield and played a one-two with Phil Turner and put the ball over Ian Radcliffe in the home goal with a great chip.

Save were in full control of the game at the break but wasted some chances to increase their lead.

SAVE had chances at the start of the second half Leon Archer and Steve Wales combined and Leon shot just wide. Then Phil Turner was put free on the half way line he ran on to go one on one with the keeper who he put the ball past but it hit the bar and ran free.

In the second half Jeff Cross, Peter Ulatowski and Steve Scripps all came on for Steve Kessack, Leon Archer and Adrian Robinson.

Late in the second half with only minutes to go Peter Ulatowski ran on solo from the half way line and beat the keeper to make it 2-0 and give SAVE an away trip to Brook house in the next round.
