I find the Sikh play situation thing appalling. NO religion should be allowed to dictate morals, behaviour or expressions of art to anyoe else. Remember Malcom Muggeridge and some pompous old cleric trying to debate The Life of Brian on TV with Cleese and Palin?
If you don't like it, don't go to see it. If you don't like freedom of expression, go and live somewhere where there is none.
This sets an appalling precedent. What next, a bunch of bishops prowling round the West End checking that all productions meet their approval? A ban on football on Sundays?
Institutionalised supernatural belief systems are something private, you are free to bay at the moon if that's your thing, but you cannot inmpose it on anyone else, nor can you DEMAND that it is treated with kid gloves: it's your problem.
