Posted by Mark on the Braintree Forum!

I have received alot of phone calls, Pm's and emails, all messages of support. All asking me not to quit what i do for the club, that was never my intention, my only intention and now will happen as stated is to quit this fansfocus message board forum after the play offs have been completed. (new forum to be set up)

Thanks for all your support, but I am looking forward to the adventures at whatever level we play at next season. Continue doing the Match Secretary for the 1st X1, Media Officer, Supporters club Secretary, involved with the Youth Accademy, i love it and wont give that up for a few people.

What I can not be asked to do anymore is set myself up for messages of abuse on here, my home address details being given over the net by Dan Sampford were the final straw, if my details appear again, action will be taken, this is not a threat but a promise Dan, i have my family's safety to think of, who i love. I would never think of putting anyones address on this forum this is illegal.

I do not wish to post on fansfocus after the final play off match. (whichever game we end on)
I will look at setting up a new forum which is not under the control of mass moderators, when you delete a post because it has no relevance to Braintree Town F.C, it goes to a graveyard here, where moderators from all the other clubs on here, can still view it and cause problems. Enough is enough, say diddums whatever, i dont need the abuse.

I hope to set up a new forum in time for the new season, registered for Braintree Fans. Sorry Iron Webbo and Ian.W no offence is meant to either of you.

Then Iron fans can chose if they wish to read Iron Chatter by Phil, Fansfocus and sausage threads or interested in the new one, the choice is upto the individual.
All the best, Mark.

As this thread was locked by Mark so nobody could answer in defence, i copied it here!

You claim Mark that you were personally abused........Not True!
If anyone cares to go into the Amir Khan thread, they will see that it was you that gave out personal abuse, not for the first time against me!
Also they will see you accused me of being a Paedophile and Murderer by association, because of my American Citizenship!
If you want a Court Case i'm sure Lawyers will agree this amounted to a Libellous Statement against me in this and other posts you have made over the months!
So for you to threaten anyone else just goes to show how Anally Retentive you really are!
YOUR Forum is just a long list of Statistics that may or not be of interest to Braintree Fans......but the record shows you hardly ever get replies!
The most posts on YOUR Forum has been since Billericay fans decided to invade it and post humourous threads that your complete lack of a sense of humour caused you to delete with alarming regularity!
Nobody wants you to resign except your good self!
We wanted you to find a sense of humour........And grow up!
Regards Les!

I never saw any Personal Address details shown on the Web! Just a map of Coggleshall and Cressing Roads, where the Ground is!

Eh??

Mark says that someone put his address on here, which would not be funny. Dan says no 'they' didn't. The American chap says that he didn't see it [the address]. Can someone confirm?

Out of curiousity, I went to the Amir Khan thread and all/most of Mark's postings have been deleted, apparently by himself. Its a rather confusing thread as a result. I am guessing that Mark made some comment about Bush and the other lunatic, Blair being the two most dangerous men on the planet, a view which understates reality in my opinion. Then the American leapt to the defence of the stars and bars, protecting the world from the very real threat of International terrorism and all that Neo-Conservative stuff that has brainwashed 37% of the American people.

Is that the bones of it?

Oh, by the way, Mark. Do you feel that you are in denial? No? I thought so.

mark lives in a strange world where he feels the need to control things...because he can't be arsed being accountable as a moderator on nonleagueuk he now wants his own forum where he can rule supreme and delete/alter/censor to his hearts content...he he...the new forum will not be expensive as it should run to 2 pages a year.

as for dan putting marks address on here....he didn't..he posted a map showing cressing road in answer to others who were bantering on the forum...it was totally harmless and just another example of marks inability to understand reality...

the only abuse I have seen involving mark flag was not aimed at him....it came from him on the amil khan thread...I saw most of it before it was deleted and it was frankly fckn outrageous...especially in the light of him being a moderator on the same forum company....he lost it totally..

to be honest he's not fit to be a moderator on these forums and all this pity poor mark bollox falls on stoney ground with me....

personally I think the guy is a nutter so good riddance...

Hi UU.

As far as the Braintree Forum is concerned, there are a lot of people who want to read about Coggeshall Under 10s girls team and the identity of the winner of the third prize in the raffle which took place on the Under 18 Reserves mini-bus en route to play Little Baddow last Tuesday night, and to have highlighted the location of the classified advertisement in the Braintree Gazette of the Star of India Tandoori who sponsored a 50:50 draw three seasons ago. Well. Perhaps not a lot of people but there will be some. Flag and Mrs Flag for example.

I'm pleased to hear that Mark's address was not published and he is, clearly, under a misapprehension there.

I didn't see any of the stuff that Mark posted on the boxer thread but perhaps he should be forgiven as he is probably under a little pressure at present.

I was not aware of any problems that Mark had (over and above the map of Braintree that was published) - none of these were raised with me - we have a dedicated forum for all moderators where anyone can raise any concerns that they may have on their forums. In fact, I was only aware of Mark's resignation here, when someone else PM'd me.

Clearly with around 1,000 posts a day - I can't read everyone of them - nor can I visit individual forums as often as I would like - so rely upon moderators to undertake that role.

Whilst the system here is not perfect, we do have methods in place for dealing with problematic posts and problematic users - including a method for sending a user to Alcatraz instead of banning them.

In the case of the map - I cannot recall the exact location that was indicated - but the poster at the time was warned - he promised not to repeat the offence, and the matter was closed.

Let's move on - if Braintree get to the playoffs then needless to say in the spirit of the game, we wish them well.

Hi Mark. Its good to know that you're there but there's no need to shout, old chap.

Just to clarify, did he add a notation beside the base of the arrow saying 'Mark's house' or some such?

Hi Ian.

Do you condone Moderators who change other people's posts without any explanation or note to that effect? What form of punishment would you administer? Withdrawal of Moderator status?

If so, perhaps you would withdraw Moderator status from the person known as Iron Webbo on the Braintree Forum. Perhaps you would change the password or whatever you people do.

Cheers.

Hi Mark.

Were you expressing what might be termed 'extreme views' on the thread? Do you know the chap?

it does raise the question as to how Dan knew where mark lived (if he did) and of course the map didn't actually show any house numbers did it...just cressing road which is where the arrow pointed..there is a big differecne between a map and the accusation by mark that dan 'put my address on the forum'

mark then calls dan a liar but in fact dan is telling the truth...he didn't put marks address on the forum...he put a map of braintree on there which if I recall so did BJR...

mark is better off away from these forums and concentrating on the work that he seems to do very well for his club...moderators need to be moderate...mark is not..he thinks its his own feifdom....

as for Ian-w's comments...fair enough but was mark also taken to task for abusing a nonleagueuk customer on a non braintree forum...

you don't need to be a fckn rocket scientist to work out the problems here do you....

Wait!! You have all missed the point.

Cressing Road is the home of Braintree Town FC. If someone put a plan on here showing Cressing Road with an arrow marked 'Flag HQ', the person may have been intending to highlight the home of the Mighty Iron as the HQ of young Mark. By astonishing co-incidence, the chap lives nearby and Mark asssumed, quite wrongly, that the person was highlighting his place of domicile.

We have a major miscarriage of justice as Dan doesn't know where Mark lives. Well. He didn't know where he lived when he highlighted the football ground.

And then we have Mark. Gone into self-imposed exile on the most ridiculous of misunderstandings.

This whole sorry tale is third only to 'Nicholas Nickleby' and 'Dallas'. We will probably find that Mark Flag and Dan Sampford are brothers, separated at birth, one taken into the hinterland of a farming community in North Essex, the other remaining in the metropolis that is Billericay.

Huge.
