all the snails hide in the dry weather??
Had the sprinkler on in the garden and gave it a good soaking (we have no hosepipe ban here and I have a meter before anyone moans).
Just been in the garden to have a ciggie and it looks like its been raining snails!! There are hundreds of the bloody things!!
This in turn means the foxes will be in for their supper and to dig up my lawn!!

According to wikipedia, they move into the vegetation, away from the ground heat, and secrete a membrane over the opening to their shell in order to prevent water loss.

I had to look it up, cos you made me wonder. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
