Edgware Town 3 - Biggleswade utd 1

Recommended Posts

Gavin - Well done today even though you seem to have ruffled our friend RobbieO's feathers in the process, so you bring a flag and horn to games do you, lol. Do you want me to see whether the 6/1 is still available incase you fancy a bit more on.

I never even read Robbie O's posts, how come he did not even post in the lead up to the game?

I see you lost 3-1 at stony stratford, what was the game like?

Yeah didn't you read my post where I said I got the air horns and flag from ebay? I dont care if I look a plum on my own, at least I make some noise.

I was helping Paul our club secretary today, I am his new assistant

SSML discipline last season was dealt with at county level. if its still the case then that means Edgware like oursleves will come under Middlesex and for a straight red card he could be looking at 35 days.

....
Five weeks? so I suppose that works out as five games. I know he picked up a lot of points last season for cards.

could be ten games at this stage of season with midweeks.

Because its done by county, you can have a situation where a Middlesex team might play a team from naother county and a player from each side gets a straight red card for fighting. The middlesex player might get 35 days, the other county might give a punishment of 3 games.

At the start of a season 3 games could only be a week but if it's a wet winter three games could lkike it was for us a few years back be 70 odd days

Gavin - You'll get along well with Paula as she likes making a noise, er at games I mean, we'll have to do that foursome before too long. Yes sadly we lost 3-1 today at Stony Stratford Town, a small village near Milton Keynes but a really nice Club and friendly people. It was 1-1 at half time and we were playing well but we seemed to lose our shape in the second period and had a player sent off which killed us really as they had at least two weeks on us in terms of fitness.

I take it you're still coming to our game on Wednesday, will you be bringing your flag and horn!

Taken from our website this morning.

Edgware played their first Spartan League fixture this afternoon in front of a good crowd of supporters. After a tentative start, with the visitors Robby O'Dell scoring in the fourth minute, the Wares took control.

A penalty scored by Lee Gardiner after Stuart Blackburne was upended in the box, then in the second half a cracker from Richard Morton and a great goal from Paul Marks sealed the points for the Wares and some welcome points on the board to start our league campaign. A report will follow shortly.

Joint Manager Steve Newing and Del Deanus can breathe a little easier with this first game under their belt, but the campaign continues with an away fixture at Colney Heath on Tuesday Evening

Thanks must go to our groundsman, Colin Hiskey, for the excellent playing surface at the White Lion, a credit to him and the club.

It's true, the pitch looked marvellous, the best I have seen it in a long time. I overheard the biggleswade board saying how good it looked and our ground

I actually have a life outside this forum - SORRY!

I've said my piece - given my honest view and tried not be biased, which Gavin, you clearly are.

Of course I am biased, I support Edgware, while you merely play for Biggleswade, and prob support some team in the FA Premier League. You scored a good goal, but your blaming of the ref for your defeat is not accurate. At least you had the good grace to say our goals were good and that your team tired at the end.

It really could have been 4, 5, or 6 at the end .

RobbieO - I'm sorry you have been upset over this as you're obviously a decent guy and you went to the trouble of sending me that programme which was much appreciated. I'm sure Gavin didn't mean anything bad by it, I'm often accused of ruffling feathers on here but I wouldn't dream of offending anybody, even Potters Bar Town. See you on 13 September at our 'palatial' Claremont Road home, don't worry I won't give you a hard time afterwards win, lose or draw.

Gavin - No I'm not sucking up to RobbieO at all as that's not my style, I just call it as I see it which often seems to upset some people. Sorry you can't make it on Wednesday afterall but thanks for letting me know, I hope it's not just because I didn't reply to your PM but I did mention on a thread that I thought the article you did for the programme was really good. I will PM you my home address so you can post the programme from yesterday and if you do the same I will send you one from Wednesday night. Don't be afraid to give me your address as I won't send the boys round.
