Edgware Town 3 - Biggleswade utd 1

Recommended Posts

AWK - You haven't been in much lately, I see you had a disappointing home defeat to Caddington yesterday conceding a last minute own goal. I assume you produced a decent programme though as always.

I was at the Luton vs Stoke match Rhodes but I am reliable informed that we were the better team but like normal failed to turn possesion into goals and then scored a last minute OG for Caddington to boot.

The programme was ok, normally struggle at the begining of the season due to the fact I like to put in information about the reserves, third team and Sunday teams for The 61, but their season's normally starts a few weeks later.

Of course I am biased, I support Edgware, while you merely play for Biggleswade, and prob support some team in the FA Premier League. You scored a good goal, but your blaming of the ref for your defeat is not accurate. At least you had the good grace to say our goals were good and that your team tired at the end.

Have you actually read my posts?

I said repeatedly that Edge deserved to win.

Up the Hatters you mug!

It really could have been 4, 5, or 6 at the end .

Hopefully he will be next season Gavin.

...
Ahhh you mean Luton Town? Did you know we sold Brian Stein to you back in the 70's? he paid for our floodlights <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I see you list Ice Hockey as one of your sports, do you play or watch and if so for whom and who do you follow? I follow the Chicago Blackhawks and Haringey Greyhounds, seen both several times live.

Use to be into Ice Hockey a lot a few years ago Gavin, following Milton Keynes Kings, long story but basically they moved to Solihull and MK Lightning came about and I started to watch them instead. To be honest after all the messing about of the Kings/Lightning saga im not into it as much as I use to be, still go from time to time and think its a great sport though.

Did you ever see Brian Stein play for Edgware or was it before your time Gavin?

I started watching Edgware JUST after Brian Stein had left for Luton. Dave Beasent had just broken into the first team as goalkeeper, and it was toward the end of the 78/79 season, yes I am that old lol.

I am actually bidding for a Edgware v Luton programme on ebay, its the game that we played that was part of the deal. Luton sent a first team down to play Edgware.

Brian Stein was one of my hero's as a young kid, he always scord when I went to watch Luton and was a fantastic player. Didn't his brother also have something to do with Edgware?

Are Haringey Greyhounds got anything to do with Haringey Racers who come up against Lightning a few years ago and if memory severs correct withdrew from the league during the season?

Anything to report from Sat, nb? How was the night out in Bournemouth?

sat was very disapointing, we deserved to win, controlled 1st half, 1-0 up, they scored in 53/54th min and then we took over again! we played really well, but its quite worrying as we gifted them 2 goals and they will def be bottom 6!!!

nite out in bournemouth didnt happen, too may drop outs, NOT HAPPY!!!

Sorry to hear about the cancelled nite out, knew about the result of course. You've still got 41 games to play for though!

Same with us! Four certain starters missing, still should have won, but again, 2 defensive mistakes, 2 goals!
