  1. All seems very reasonable. My only concern being that 13-16 year olds now need to pay which may deter them at a time when we are looking to grow numbers.... Of course that is said without any data to back it up and i am sure that the member card scanning data would back up this decision (i.e. demographics etc) so all good
  2. Taunton were top of the league at a point
  3. It is a good point and all has to be done with relativity to the previous season imo as each team is on a different trajectory or point in their respective journey towards a goal
  4. This season has absolutely been a success both on and off the pitch and I truly believe that we should be aiming to be in the playoffs next season. Unfortunately, you could probably say the same for at least half the league so some will fall short in that respect. Some of the really positives of the season have been: - Cup performances. In both the FA Cup and the FA Trophy we have gone toe to toe with several teams from one or two levels higher in all games, even with 7-2 loss we were competitive and gave a really good account of ourselves. - League wise we have seen our biggest National League South points tally since we got promoted which is fantastic, surpassing the previous highest of 63 points. In addition, if you take the last 39 games and ignore the first 7 then extrapolate out we would have finished on 76 points which would have put us comfortably 6th. - Highest average gate of the 21st Century and highest league attendance since 1996 Woking game. Let's also not forget that we capped the Grimsby game based on supporter experience where we could have let another 1k in. - Settled squad and early contracts for some our our younger brightest talents (Ogbonna/Leon/Spasov) - 50 year lease secured on the ground. Probably for the rest of my life we will play at Arbour Park. I will let you know what happens when I'm 86
  5. As a frequent user of the sunshine stand (sorry Berkely homes stand - definitely 2-3 degrees warmer on a Saturday afternoon in there with the sun beating down on it) I agree that a big miss is toilets on that side. My 4 year old can't go 25 mins without needing to go and we then have a long walk around to our nearest facility. Was great to see the crowds on Saturday and i think it is one of those where you invite an extra 1,000 in for free and maybe 10 will become regulars and another 30 come every now and then. Do this a few times through the season though and the base attendance increases by say 50 so longer term there is a financial benefit. On the day itself the benefit through food and drink is huge. I was speaking to one guy (in the toilet queue of course) at half time and he had no idea who the opposition team was but was saying he got his free ticket through a group chat he is in. He then went on to say that it is just around the corner but he'd never been and will probably return even due to the fact that its a better place to drink than most of Slough has to offer
  6. If we win tonight and Saturday...... Bath have Torquay and Hampton have Dover (hampton without a win in 6)..... if one of those do not win we have a chance going into the final day..... very very slim but I say we have everything to play for tonight
  7. 3 wins.... Hampton lose all 3 and we sneak into the playoffs
  8. Unheard of but could some logic state that if fixtures were switched but the team meant to be away pays for the travel? so that Taunton don't incur more costs from having to travel when meant to be at home....... we would have had to pay it anyway
  9. It is fantastic news and agree that Dan has done fantastic for us...... Does anyone know if anyone else is on a contract already covering next season or do they all end this summer for those who are on contracts?
  10. Most recent one they were runners up?
  11. Excellent post..... The problem isn't getting promoted too soon, the problem comes with desperation when struggling at the level above. I too would love to go up at a point just to experience the big sides coming down to AP on a regular but if we went back down I wouldn't be too bothered as the National South is about our natural level at this stage
  12. I find this reply quite short sighted to be honest........ At the time, Aaron was injured and not due back until Mar/Apr time if i remember correctly. So he would have played what 6 games. As you point out he was on a contract and so being paid by us nonetheless. That contract was up in the summer and so he was off anyway. Dorking offered a chance to release those funds at a time and also secure his signing rather than competing in the summer. Did we not also get Temi in around the same time, probably using the released funds and let's face it, Temi was a revelation in our back line and helped us stay up.
  13. Harrogate Railway, Walsall, Yeading, Mansfield *2, Gainsborough, Rochdale, Sutton * 2, Gillingham, Grimsby
  14. Will be the first game since i have been a supporter (21 years) where I won't be in attendance at an FA cup proper round match. This is the 12th one
  15. Gutted as someone who cannot make Tuesday night games at the moment due to work constraints. Was hoping for TV
