Billericay 1-1 Harrow Borough

I wonder if this could turn out to be an important 2 points dropped? We're now 6th - a win would have seen us 3rd (with Staines and Hendon both losing).

I had the feeling BWG was gonna miss that pen when he stepped up. I just felt he was due a miss.

Should have had 3,4 or even 5 by half-time, but instead we went in 1-1. Cracking goal by Billy though, and you could see it meant a lot to him the way he celebrated.

I haven't seen a game so one sided in the 1st half for a while, they were there for the taking, but a small part of me thought i have seen this type of game before we do all the work and then hey we are 1-0 down, as did happen.I thought the second half we were ball watching at times and giving up too soon overall i thought 1-1 was about right. Billys goal was GREAT ,Bgw was great running down the right side, and Ronnies great save, in a way we lost today ! 2 points, i know people will be happy for a draw , but they were there for the taking and that could be the difference between play offs or not.Blue fan

Not so sure we would have deserved a win.

I though Harrow did a good job in stifling our creative players, and always looked like they could nick it themselves. Suprised that Wayne didn't make an appearance.

Agree that Billy's goal was very well takem; he sure has a cool head in those situations.

All in all as tight a match as I feared it might be, certainly in the second half.

I thought we had enough clear cut chances in the first 15 minutes to make the game safe, but alas we couldn't take even one of them.

Their goal was probably their only attack in the first half, maybe we should have stopped that cross coming over.

We scored just before half time (not for the first time) and I was hoping we would use that as a springboard but it was not to be.

In fact in the second half I thought the game was even and could have swung either way. Over the course of the game I don't think we can complain about a draw, it was probably a fair result with us performing slightly below par.

I think playing one up front doesn't suit Billy well. I think we either need to get someone up there with him or play Burbs in that position.

It's not a great result but there's no need to get in a flap about it. We can't win every week and we are still well in the hunt towards the play-off places. Onwards and upwards and a hard game next week.

Come on you blues:

Worster

Macca Alaile Heffer Kerrers

BWG Hunter Black (Burbridge) Dormer Hodges (Marron)

Bricknell

snu: Buckfield, Semanshia, Blewitt

Fair result I thought, we could easily have lost it in second half. Harrow had done their homework and double marked Lee totally out of the game.

Brilliant goal by Billy showed real skill to chest the ball down pass to other side of pitch, run 50 yards and then score - brilliant.

Couple of negatives for me. Dormer is a quality player but surely can be coached to do more than just stand on his right peg. He missed a couple of sitters that could have been tapped in but he insists on using that left foot all the time.

And Bradley is so infuriating, can be brilliant but the occasional pass or early cross wouldn't go amiss.

I thought Aliere and Heffs were solid today but unless we get Flack back scoring goals I don't think we have enough up front to stay in / get through playoffs.

I said it would be tight and it was, altho we did have enough chances to win the game. Harrow are a tough team to beat and give them a chance, they will stifle you and attempt to break up play...for them...job done.

I agree with jl, we can't win every game and we didn't lose yesterday. I know people believe that we can still do it but there is still a long way to go and teams that can still steal a march on us. We've had a fantastic run of results and now we have some really hard games coming up so lets all get behind the lads and enjoy our football. You never know what may happen.

I agree a draw was a fair outcome. I guess it could have been different if the penalty had gone in, but it was a good save from the keeper. First we were better and unfortunate to go one down. Great finish from Billy for the equaliser. Second half was disappointing with chances few and far between.

Credit Harrow for doing their homework well and shutting out our creative players. It could have been worse and they could have sneaked it towards the end though.

Onto next week and back on the winning trail, fingers crossed.

At home to Harrow, I thought this would have been three points for us but it wasn't to be.

After the saved pen I was wondering if it was going to be one of those days, but we continued to create chances and were duly rewarded with a fine goal from Billy B just before half time.

But we allowed the second half game style to be dictated by Harrow, and the match went flat. They even muted the Blue army, and we needed them yesterday.

So fair play to Harrow, they did a job on us second half and deserved the much coveted away point.

We'll just have have to nick all three from George on Saturday and that will put us back on track.

I think the upside from Saturday was simply we have kept the unbeaten run going. I (deep down) had a not so optimistic feeling about this game, so to get a draw is i guess a result ! Really pleased for Billy and yes he certainly enjoyed the moment. I also think we as supporters had our quietest home game of the season ? - One that shall be addressed with a rocket up the preverbials for us ALL grin

Amazing how the league is panning out now. Ramsgate dropping points, Staines dropping another couple and Hendon slipping still. Horchurch i guess were the big winners of our little group of playoff contenders (seeing as Chelmski and The Do do Don Dons have got one and two sewn up) - Or have they!?!
